The Loss Of The Creator Analysis
With the help of The Loss of The Creator by Walker Percy and Achievement of Desire by Richard
Rodriguez, readers are able easily see what makes Rodriguez a common student. Rodriguez lives the
life of a common student, and it is not until later in life realizes how much he needs to change. Percy
thinks of a common student as someone who is unable to absorb all of the information that is made
available from a given topic. Common students are ones who readily take on predetermined opinions,
rather than formulate their own. The opinion of others is deposited onto common people through the
use of education, media, and word of mouth. In order for someone to be complex they must engage a
topic with an open mind, and think for themselves. Rodriguez

Compare And Contrast The American Army Vs British
Against all odds, The United States s meager volunteer army defeated the British, who were said to
have been the greatest army at that time. The war began in 1775 when the Americans demanded
independence from Britain. America united with the French and Spanish and the British were on their
own for the most part. At the time, America wasn t an official country which makes it even more
astonishing that they beat such an enormous empire. Although the American army was at a massive
disadvantage, they did have a few elements on their side. The Americans were more motivated than
the british because they were fighting for their freedom. They also had better leaders that were
encouraging and innovative. The American army had Motivation on their side.

King Lear Nothing Quotes
The concept of nothing in Shakespeare s King Lear is vital to the development of the characters and
the relationships between them. The symbol of nothing represents the fear the characters have of
altering their current status to irrelevant and indigent.
At the onset of the play the concept of nothing is misunderstood as it is oftenly in the entire play, King
Lear and Cordelia use nothing but they both have different ways of using the word which creates the
conflict and leads the plot. As Cordelia tries to explain to her father (Lear) that she cannot put her
feelings for him into words by saying nothing, Lear misunderstands and asserts nothing will come
from nothing. (Act. 1, Scene 1)In the play, King Lear, the quote Nothing will come from nothing , the
symbol of nothing is used as Lear tries to intimidate Cordelia by saying that if she doesn t have
anything to say she will get nothing consequently. Cordelia basically plans to speak authentically and
in spite of the risk of getting nothing as far as land and sovereignty, she declines to compliment her
father as she ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
2, Scene 1) the significance of this quote is that Edmund has recently forged a plan to dispose of
Edgar, his brother, from the inheritance with a fake letter demonstrating his siblings plan to kill their
dad. The letter is truly naught as it is falsified. Glocester, however, trusts the false subject of the letter
and deserts his unparalleled ardent child. Edmund belays the word nothing with a snappy and leery
approach as to conceal the letter, along these lines demonstrating it really is something.(Act. 2, Scene
2) This quote is additionally critical as it shows the extent he is will go to not be viewed as an
illegitimate child and inconsequential. Which shows that Edmund fears the thought of conforming to
his insignificant title and demonstrates his actual insatiable, remorseless and manipulative

Recrystallization Of Naphthalene Lab Report
Experiment 4: Recrystallization of Pure Phthalic Acid, Benzoic Acid, and Naphthalene
Charles Nyberg
Gilbert Immanuel and Rachel Zigelsky
Mussie Gide Introduction Chemical experiments are often described, when they are finished, by the
yield or recovery of the target product or solid. Also melting point can be tested to determine purity in
a compound. Most times these chemicals are not completely pure so they can be recrystallized to
remove the impurities. The technique of recrystallization learned and utilized in this lab works best to
remove contaminates from nonvolatile organic solids.1 A solvent is used that dissolves the solid at
room temperature and then the impurities can be removed via pipette or other simplified removal
process. When all impurities are dissolved and removed, a lattice or an ordered structure in the form of
crystals is able to be collected and observed. Some substances cannot be recrystallized with only one
solvent. Therefore, two solvents, or solvent pairs, can help dissolve the substance at boiling point only
and not room temperature.2 Solvent pairs are able to be dissolved into each other but not anything else
effectively. One part of the pair is used to prevent dissolving at room temperature and the other half is
used to help dissolve at boiling point. Lastly, activated charcoal is utilized to remove brightly colored
impurities from the dissolved solid solutions. The charcoal attracts the impure substances and then is
able to be

`` Those Winter Sundays `` By Robert Hayden
It may seem unlikely that someone who viewed himself as an outsider would leave a legacy as a
postmodern poet, yet Robert Hayden did just that in his poem, Those Winter Sundays. The poet
utilizes his own alienation as a tool to reveal an insider s view on the issues of his time.
Robert Hayden was born in a poor suburb outside Detroit on August 4, 1913. His name at birth was
Asa Bundy Sheffey. He was raised, however, as Robert Hayden, the name given by his foster parents.
Hayden s foster parents happened to live across the street from where Hayden was born. Hayden did
not discover the story until later in life. Realizing this story helped shape his life as a poet. He
established a lasting legacy of both postmodernism and African American achievement. At the same
time, his poetry helped Robert Hayden discover who he was as a person.
Hayden was extremely nearsighted as a child. He abandoned the notion of sports in favor of reading,
eventually developing a deep seated love of reading that turned into a career as a poet and a legacy of
many notable works. Hayden is sometimes compared to Robert Frost in terms of breakout hits. His
first volumes did extremely well in the United Kingdom upon their release. (Glaysher 2) It is through
his poems that Hayden [s]ubtly characterizes modern society while portraying its victims. (Fetrow 1)
He deals with controversial issues presented throughout his African American heritage that are
postmodern in style. Hayden is able to utilize

The Book Of Numbers 22-24 By Calvin Seerveld Essay
In the book of Numbers 22 24, we get a very odd story. A story of a man, angels, a talking donkey,
curses and more! The author also wants to find out how this can help us understand more of the Bible
and Israel. He does this by going through the passage and giving us different ways of approaching the
text. The author is critiquing the approaches to help the reader understand the good and the bad of
each. The author, Calvin Seerveld gives us a good, in depth study of this passage. In this paper, I will
give a summary of what Seerveld is saying on this passage. Seerveld starts off his book by giving an
overview of what the biblical story is about and then moves on to the anemones/strange things of this
story. There are many strange things which require us to look deeper in the text. At first, it looks like
God changes his mind often and being difficult. There are other small things that seem odd to the
story. There are some issues with the way the character travels, the elders are mentioned in the
beginning of the story, then not heard from again, some repetitious statements and other things.
However, it is important to note the story floated around orally for many years and there were
different variations of the story. It took a long time before they were all written down into a story. In
fact, Seerveld argues the third and fourth oracles were written before the time of Solomon and his
kingdom was divided. The first two oracles were not composed until the late 7th century

Poland s Role Of The State Of Poland
The Republic of Poland, commonly referred to simply as Poland, is a unitary state that operates with a
parliamentary republic government. In addition, Poland has also been a member of the European
Parliament since 2004 in which it is the sixth largest member state with a population of over 38.53
million as of 2013. The politics of Poland can arguably be viewed as complex to an outsider, such as
one from the United States of America. Unlike the United States, Poland does not use a two party
system in elections and it also operates under a semi presidential system meaning the country has both
a president and prime minister. Poland operates with a semi presidential system in which there is both

Duda is an independent politician meaning he does not particularly align with any political party.
Contrarily, Szydło is a member of the political party known as the Law and Justice party. The political
parties, or lack of, of Polish politics can greatly assist in influencing how Poland is governed. Poland
operates under a multi party system in which various political parties compete against one another in
elections. This system contrasts from the United States in that the United States operates within a two
party system in which elections are between only two major political parties. Poland currently has 15
political parties that hold seats in either the Sejm, Senate or the European Parliament. These parties
include Law and Justice, Civic Platform, Modern, Polish People s Party, Union of European
Democrats, Union of European Democrats, Democratic Left Alliance, Solidary Poland, Poland
Together, Liberty, Congress of the New Right, Right Wing of the Republic, National Movement, Real
Politics Union, Labour United and National Catholic Movement. Civic Platform and Law and Justice
are the two major political parties of Poland, as they accumulate the most seats by a plurality in the
Sejm, Senate and European Parliament. Due to their pluralities in these institutions, members of these
two parties have a large impact and influence on decisions in the country of Poland. In addition to

The Indian Removal And The Colonization Of The United...
Between the years 1816 and 1850, over one hundred thousand Indians from sixty different tribes were
relocated from their homelands and moved west; around thirty thousand Indians would die en route.
The Indian Removal stands as one of the cruelest periods in the history of the United States, and is the
result of a long history of war and disagreement between whites and Indians.
Indians and Europeans had their differences. The culture of the Indian tribes was very different than
that of the incoming white settlers. Indian nations held a deep respect for nature, and felt that the land
belonged to no individual. The white European settlers believed in private land ownership. However,
in spite of these differences, some white settlers and Indians developed successful trade relationships.
Still, Indians were long regarded as savages by white Europeans . Spaniards treated them with extreme
brutality, imprisoning Indians and confiscating their lands. And as time passed, Indians and Europeans
would begin to fight over land claims.
200 years later, Indians and Europeans had several written treaties, but the Europeans often ignored
the treaties and encroached on Native territory. Indians sought ways to stop the settlers from taking
their lands, sometimes turning to war.
In the American Revolutionary War, most Indians fought on the side of the British. Indians believed
that Britain was the better option for winning the war, as they hoped the British would help curb the
expansion of

The Development Of Gifted Education
Historical roots School students involvement in research projects is a new demand of 21st century due
to some factors: globalization trend, development of human capital, implementation of the reform on
the support and development of schools for gifted students and the poor results of Kazakhstani
students in PISA. Since this paper is focused on research projects in the framework of gifted
education, it is essential to determine the concepts of children as researchers and gifted education by
answering the question What and then, discuss the reasons of Why . The historical roots of the concept
of children as researchers started being popular because of the change of children s status in society (
Hallet and Prout 2003; Alderson and Morrow, 2004). The United Nations Convention on the Rights of
the Child (UNCRC, 1989) designated children as social actors in their own rights. Specifically,
children should be enlightened and engaged about all solutions that influence their lives (as cited in
Kellett, 2005, p.4). According to some scholars (Kirby and Bryson, 2002; Johnson et al., 1998), since
that time the growth of children as participants as well as co researchers is apparently seen. Initially,
children were involved in some data collections, thus most of research projects are still being
manipulated by adults and children are not considered as potential partners (Kellett, 2005, p.5).

Jane Eyre and The Great Gatsby
Jane Eyre and The Great Gatsby are two very intresting novels which are very eye opening to one
about how society is and the main message I got especially from Jane Eyre is that money is not always
the answer to personal happiness and love. Both novels believed in moral convinction where you
believe in one viewbook and it does not change for the better or worse.
Jane Eyre is a very intresting novel as soon as you open it the first few chapters are shocking as it
shows you two big themes one of which is class and the other is gender. In 1947 people would judge
you depending on your class and people in society would judge you and treat you by where you are in
the hierarchy tree. Another big theme was gender women were treated as third class citizens no
freedom at all. Jane Eyre was a novel about an orphan who is adopted into this wealthy family.
However she feels completely out the circle and not part of there family. The family certainly did not
make her feel part of them either they first saw her as poor because she came from a poor background
even though now she is adopted in there family they still saw her like that and secondly she was a girl
so that made things worse and those two combinations were not good. At one point in the novel Mr
reed said to her You have no business to take our books; you are a dependant, mamma says; you have
no money; your father left you none; you ought to beg, and not to live here with gentleman s children
like us . . he is telling her

The Middle East And West Perceive Each Other
How the Middle East and West Perceive each other
Followed by a year of continuous terror attacks by ISIS, riots over cartoon portrayals of the Prophet
PBUH, and the ongoing war in Iraq and Afghanistan, many Muslims and Westerners know that they
have developed bad relations these days. The media continuously portrays the Middle East as nation
filled with terrorist whilst the West are portrayed as the nation that is trying to make peace. There have
been so many misconceptions that have made both cultures create a barrier between them because of
how both cultures are portrayed through the media.
Many in the West, view Muslims as fanatical, violent and as lacking tolerance. Muslims in the Middle
East and Asia have the same feelings towards the west as they view them as violent and extremist but
also selfish, immoral and greedy.
How America Perceives Muslims and the Middle East
Islamophobia existed in America before the terrorist attacks of September 11 2001, but it was not as
harsh as it was back then, but it did increase after the terror attacks and with the media adding more
misconceptions (Sinlak, n.d.). Some of the perceptions that most Americans had of the Middle East
was that they were rich with oil, lived a lavish life and consisted of deserts. They did not have the idea
of the Middle East being a terrorist region where there was always war. However, after 9/11 the
negative views started to increase, and Muslims and the Middle East were viewed very negatively.

Romantic Hero Longfellow
Romantic Hero Essay Henry Wadsworth Longfellow(1807 1882) defined, what is considered today,
the true Romantic hero. He associated the Romantic hero with unique characteristics. These
characteristics were not found in any other type of hero. In his poem A Psalm of Life , Longfellow
defined a Romantic hero is while the protagonist in his poem Excelsior gives an example of a
Romantic hero. According to Longfellow the Romantic hero must be a nonconformist, a man of
action, must act in the present, and above all contribute to society.
In order for a hero to be a Romantic hero, he must be an individual. One cannot follow the crowd and
be a Romantic hero. Longfellow urged readers to be not like dumb, driven cattle (psalm of life 5. 3)
and to Be a hero in the strife! (5. 4). Longfellow demonstrated this using Exelsior by making the

Washington Irving, author of Rip van winkle, illustrates the Romantic hero a little differently then
Longfellow. Although there are some differences, the overall impression the characters give is similar.
Washington Irving illustrated Rip, the protagonist in Rip van Winkle, as a very individualistic person,
who acted in the present and initially did not contribute to society. He did not inspire others to act in
the present, although he did end up achieving greatness and finding his place in society. Using Rip
Van Winkle, Irving demonstrated the qualities he believed a Romantic hero must possess.
The first qulity Irving associated with a Romantic hero was being an individual. Rip clearly did not
follow the social norm of men in the village. While all other men went to work, Rip, would sit on a
wet rock( Irving or assist a neighbor . He was willing to help anyone but his family. If Rip had
followed the crowd, he would not have had the the calling and would never have been able to go into

Essay on Mind and Matrix
Epistemology is the nature of knowledge. Knowledge is important when considering what is reality
and what is deception. The movie The Matrix displays a social deception in which Neo, the main
character, is caught between what he thought was once reality and a whole new world that controls
everything he thought was real. If I were Neo, I would not truly be able to know that I was in the
matrix. However, it is rational to believe that I am in the matrix and will eventually enter back into my
reality later. The proof that that I can know that I am in the matrix and that I will return to reality
comes from the responses of foundationalism, idealism, and pallibalism. To begin, foundationalism is
the essence of what we are certain of. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

(Replies 7, AT 7:537) (Lex, Newman) . This explains how foundationalism works; you must remove
all of your doubt to advance to the foundationtion of which you are sure of. This is called the method
of doubt. Once you know what you are sure of, you can build up knowledge from there. Many wonder
how we can wonder we are not dreaming. Some agree that you cannot feel pain in a dream, but others
say they have. The argument that dreams are not related to memory is strong because most people do
not remember their dreams. Descartes explains that in a dream you can feel as if you are using all of
your senses, but they seem to be more vague than when awake. Descartes struggles with the dream
issue until he comes upon his conclusion. I now notice that there is a vast difference between [being
asleep and being awake], in that dreams are never linked by memory with all the other actions of life
as waking experiences are. ... But when I distinctly see where things come from and where and when
they come to me, and when I can connect my perceptions of them with the whole of the rest of my life
without a break, then I am quite certain that when I encounter these things I am not asleep but awake.
(Med. 6, AT 7:89 90) (Lex, Newman) This dream argument attributes to how we can know anything.

Examples Of 7 Habits Of Highly Effective Teens
Seven Habits Essay
Sean Covey s The 7 Habits of Highly Effective Teens is intended as a guide to help teens improve
themselves and become successful in life. Its primary focuses are how to take control of your life, set
and achieve goals, build friendships, maintain quality relationships, withstand peer pressure, and
improve self image. It consists of seven habits Be Proactive, Begin with the End in Mind, Put First
Things First, Think Win Win, Seek First to Understand, Then to Be Understood, Synergize, and
Sharpen the saw. These habits are each designed to help you lead your best life. From this book, I have
learned to take care of and love myself, maintain healthy relationships with others, work towards my
goals, and resist anything that could potentially harm me or prevent me from doing these things.
The first habit portrayed in The 7 Habits of Highly Effective Teens is Be Proactive. Being proactive
means taking responsibility of your life and thinking before you act. As the book states, Proactive
people are aware that they can t control everything that happens to them, but they can control what
they do about it. The opposite of being proactive is being reactive, which is what the book is trying to
steer you away from. Reactive people act on feelings and don t take the time to assess the situation.
This habit has taught me that how you react to situations determines the outcome. Even if the situation
is negative, if you are proactive and have a good, responsible

Literary Symbolism In Daphne Du Maurier s The Birds
How literary symbolism helps makes a story relatable by giving everyday objects a meaning. The
Birds is a short story about birds turning overnight on the humans and killing them or trying to kill
them. In The Birds by Daphne du Maurier, symbolism adds detail and foreshadows what is to come in
the story role because it makes the story relatable and ties in the reader. In The Birds by Daphne du
Maurier, symbolism makes the story more interesting and foreshadows danger, which makes it
creepier for the reader. For example, the black winter foreshadows danger because the wind, the ice,
and the frost are the worst ever documented. In addition, the black winter comes overnight. This event
makes The Birds creepy for the reader because normally

Philippine Airlines Swot Analysis
Brief background of Philippine Airlines
Founded in 1941 and based in Pasay City, The Philippine Airlines is the country s ultimate flag carrier
and oldest airlines. The monopolization of the airline occurred in 1995 when Lucio Tan, an affluent
Chinese Filipino businessman purchased the airline and became its chairman and CEO.
. Global competition in the industry
Threat to new entrants:
In spite of the low switching costs and the absence of proprietary goods and services, generally
speaking, there is a low threat to new entrants in the airline industry. The huge amount of capital make
reprisals against new entrants through a price drop. This is evident among existing companies. Despite
low switching costs, customer loyalty prevails ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The complexity of airplanes magnify competition and high fixed costs yield difficulty in forsaking the
industry. Nonetheless, brand differentiation of various airlines de escalate competition. Service
differentiation, for instance, is the Philippine Airline s trademark. Allowances for excess baggage and
the hospitality of flight attendants are a reflection of the Filipino culture. The intensity of price
competition is indisputable among domestic airlines such as Philippine Airlines and Cebu Pacific. The
air promos and red eye flights of Cebu Pacific appeal to budget conscious passengers.
. POLITICAL LEGAL
The Establishment, Operation, Maintenance and Franchise of the Philippine Airlines is reflected on
Presidential Decree No. 1590, which has been established under the regime of the former president
Ferdinand Marcos. The provision of similar laws and rights for airline passengers have been
constituted three years ago. The Air Passenger Bill of Rights is a product of the Department of Trade
and Industry (DTI) and the Department of Transportation and Communication s collaboration. One of

Abstract
In 1997, the Asian Financial Crisis spread rapidly all over the Asia and affected almost all the
economies in the world. Prior to the Asian Financial Crisis, the Asian countries such as Thailand,
Malaysia, South Korea, Indonesia, Hong Kong and Singapore experienced a remarkable growth in the
economy that was considered the highest in the world. These Asian economies increased by a notable
proportion of 6 to 10 percent annually in the GDP. However, what had been regarded as an Asian

Regardless of the negotiations for support grant from the IMF and the United States Treasury, the
monetary drainage persisted and Brazil was forced to devalue its currency. As a result, the Brazilian
government authorized the real to float, while it abandoned linking its currency to the U.S. dollar. The
financial crisis in Brazil spread out rapidly to other nations in Latin America and as a result several
billions of dollars were drained from these countries and this hindered the trade exchange with the
United States. As a result, the nations in the Latin America experienced one of the nastiest economic
recession that was mainly fuelled by the Asian financial crisis. The effect of the financial disaster was
predominantly severe in the Latin America s small economies, for instance Bolivia, Uruguay, Ecuador,
Chile and, Argentina and Colombia (Hunter, 1999).
Petti (2001) argues that financial shocks can move rapidly throughout the nations within similar
regions as it was revealed by the Mexican peso disaster that occurred in the year 1994. Similarly, the
financial crisis that affected the Asian countries proved to be a regional financial crisis and it
threatened geographically distant vibrant economies mostly in the Latin America. The Latin America
countries began experiencing the effects of the Asian financial crisis in 1997

International Economic Growth And Prosperity
Education is the key to global economic growth and prosperity. For any educational institution to
compete in the global market, it must invest in higher education in a manner that is productive,

institutions of higher learning have experience a significant paradigm shift of the role of information

revenue and profit projections.
2) Do: This involves the implementation of the chosen course of action. In this step both financial and
non financial information helps employees make decisions.
3) Check: This includes measuring and monitoring performance and taking short term actions based
on measured performance. Management accounting information in this step includes costs of products
and product lines, costs of serving customers, customer profitability, and business unit financial and
nonfinancial performance to name a few.
4) Act: This involves managers taking actions to lower costs, change resource allocations, and
improve quality. As these new actions get implemented, the management team will eventually return
to the planning step to assess whether its previous plan is still valid and worth continuing, or whether
it has become time to adapt the plan or perhaps introduce a new strategic plan. This launches another
trip around its PDCA cycle.

empowered its employees, asking them to improve

A Report On The Sun
Everyone loves waking up at eight in the morning to go to an auction, particularly a college student
whose classes don t begin until noon, right? Wrong, especially one who has never been to an auction,
let alone woken up at eight in the morning since mid August. That morning, I was unaware of my
ability to learn so much about the microscopic Eastern Shore from a hoarder s garage on steroids.
Surprisingly, it s possible for a place that only holds eight percent of Maryland s population to be
hectic, but also peaceful and eccentric; its inhabitants could be competitive, friendly, and also rude, all
at the same time.
Regardless of where I wanted to be, I was in Crumpton, MD on the last Wednesday of September. The
sun is nowhere to be seen while drizzling rain is stirring the dirt ground into mud, but regardless of
how dark and gloomy the morning felt, the colossal yellowish green building managed to lighten the
mood. Its base is compiled of cement blocks and the roof is slanted, painted in a forest green to match
the large letters that read Dixson s Furniture Auction. In front of the auction warehouse sat items that
belonged to someone at some point, but were in search of a new owner. Each item was systematically
scattered throughout the lot. Most items are what you would expect to see: wooden chairs, wardrobes,
and even some tables.
Suddenly, a short, skinny black man asked if he could be of any assistance. I kindly responded no. The
man quickly vanishes into the

The Theories Of The Scientific Management Theory
Management, as defined by Richard Wilson, is the body of thought that seeks to explain and improve
the administrative control of businesses and their employees (2016). In this paper we will discuss
some of the more popular management theories including the Scientific Management Theory by
Frederick W. Taylor, Administrative Management Theory by Henri Fayol, Bureaucratic Management
Theory by Max Weber, The Hawthorne Studies Human Relations Management Theory by Elton
Mayo, the Management Science Theory, and the Organization Environment Theory of Open Systems
developed by Daniel Katz, Robert Kahn, and James Thompson.
Scientific Management Theory
Considered the father of management thought, Frederick Taylor was one of the earliest theorists
credited with developing and defining the theory of scientific management in the late 1800 s. His
theories were designed to improve the efficiency of a factory system and worker manager relations
and to prevent soldiering, which was the tendency of workers to only complete enough work to avoid
being penalized or reprimanded (Biscontini, 2015). Taylor s theory stressed the importance of strict
time and motion studies of the industrial process. With the development of the assembly line, such
time and motion studies seemed appropriate for breaking large industrial processes down into their
smallest components and then training workers to perform only one small part of the manufacturing
process (Wilson, 2016).

Theme Of In Cuba By Ana Menendez
The way in which an exile attempts to figure out and achieve familiarity a new country is the way that
cultural encounter is treated in Ana Menendez short story in Cuba I was a German shepherd. The main
character, as we will show below in the following paragraphs, employs his previous knowledge and
applies it to the new, unknown country he arrives at for the purposes of finding a place for himself.
Reading the story shows clearly that the author was aware of the theme of cultural encounters as we
will illustrate below. The jokes are employed successfully by the author in her treatment of the topic of
cultural encounters. The jokes are directed mainly at Anglo American superiority and arrogance and in
some cases also pokes fun at Cuban and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

to restore the old world of his Cuban homeland from nostalgic memory: the writer sought to illustrate
the characters attempts at understanding their new place through familiarization happens through the

Comparing Gospels Matthew And John
Both Gospels, Matthew, and John, tell their stories about Jesus Christ to different audiences. For
example, the Gospel Matthew was one of Jesus twelve disciples and was an Apostle. Matthew, was a
tax collector as well, who lived adequately because of his occupation before becoming one of Jesus
disciples. To be a true follower of Jesus Christ, Matthew left everything he had behind and was still
tormented regarding his faith in Jesus Christ. Matthew came from a Jewish background, and due to
this, Matthew wrote his stories strictly towards a Jewish audience to prove that Jesus is the King of the
Jews. According to Matthew chapter two verse two, Coogan states, Where is the child who has been
born king of the Jews? For we observed his star at

Isaac Asimov What Is Intelligence Anyway
My thoughts on What is Intelligence Anyway? In the essay What is Intelligence Anyway? the author
Isaac Asimov shows how despite what popular consensus is, whether a person is considered intelligent
or not will depend on the subject at hand. There is no denying that he is right about this. Asimov talks
about his conversations with his auto mechanic and how he was considered intelligent due to how he
scored on some tests while his mechanic would do poorly on the test. Despite that Asimov admits he
doesn t understand the first thing about cars. This would mean that Asimov is intelligent by school
standards but not by automobile standards. I can relate to both Asimov and the Mechanic in this
situation. While I know the secrets and how

How Has Technology Influenced The Music Industry
How Technological Advances Influenced the Music Industry
Taking a look back into at the history of America can make one realize just how privileged society is
today. Not long ago, people did not have the luxury of technology. Technology has greatly influenced
the way people learn, communicate, and act, but people are not the only thing that technology has had
an effect on. Throughout American history there have been many technological advancements that
influenced the making, recording, and mobilization of music.
In today s world people listen to music daily, but no one stops to think about how today s music came
to be. From the early 1900s to today the idea of music has been evolving to fit the technology we
have. Before the popularity of music spread, people had to physically play, or go and find a live music
source. There was no ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Before music was able to be made, people had to watch live music and go to live shows. Then,
phonographs, more commonly known as record players, were created in 1877 by Thomas Edison,
which allowed people to listen to music at their house (Wilkinson 14 15). Records were created by
vibrations hitting a receiver, a cylinder wrapped in tin foil and a thin membrane, or diaphragm, all
attached to a needle. Sound waves would cause vibrations on the needle, therefore sketching the
waves into the record. When the record was plugged in and the needle ran back over the waves it
would repeat the sounds that created the initial vibrations (Wilkinson 15). Records were only the
beginning of take home music. Soon, technology allowed different machines to pick up radio waves
and play audio live as it was happening. Less than twenty years after the phonographs was made, in

Death Of The Ball Turret Gunner
Randall Jarrell put much thought into his poem, The Death of the Ball Turret Gunner , but more
specifically into the tone. Tone is the attitude an author has towards his or her subject and it has the
power to be bland, or have a true impact on the literary work being presented. Jarrell effectively used
imagery and diction to create the attitude he wanted his readers to conclude in their own way. First,
Jarrell uses imagery abundantly throughout his lyrical poem. The character used in the poem is
compared to what we would believe to be an animal, with fur of some kind. The comparison to an
animal hunched over with frozen fur gives us, as readers, a visualization of how small the Ball Turret
Gunner is and allows us to understand that the men in these positions are nervous and in high
altitudes, thus more than likely frozen with sweat. Additionally, Jarrell specifically names six miles
above the earth which engages readers in knowing that this is not a little mission, as they are miles
above earth s surface. Also, the gory ending of washing the flesh out of the turret with a hose enables
readers to visualize how this situation typically pans out. Simply due to the goriness of the situation,
readers are likely to remember this than if the process were to be sugar coated and made to be more
pleasant. Imagery paints this five line poem into a story board and gives the setting a whole new
meaning. Secondly, diction is a key aspect in this poem and is highly important due to its

The Role Of The Nurse Manager In NHS Scotland
Within NHS Scotland, the Nurse Manager role is afforded an array of designations such as Clinical
Nurse Manager, Head of Nursing, Lead Nurse, and Service Manager. The role is routinely referred to
as a leadership and management role and is cited as within the echelons of middle management (NES
2014; The Scottish Government Workforce Directorate 2009). A concept analysis of the Nurse
Manager role identified a significant absence of Scottish based literature. This leaves one to conjecture
that the role has emerged within NHS Scotland in an ad hoc manner, being highly dependent on
locality drivers, and with no formally agreed definition of role.
The lack of role definition combined with significant expansion of the Nurse Manager role and its
associated responsibilities is argued to have increased the plethora of designations within the global
nursing field (Cathcart et al 2010). Stateside, The American Organization of Nurse Executives (2011)

English Wing Creative Writing
The English wing is an empty corridor, ten feet wide, both sides lined with sheet metal lockers
enameled in beige. The lockers stand in silent ranks, punctuated by occasional indentations: beige
doorways leading to beige classrooms. Fluorescent lights flicker wanly down at beige linoleum tiles. A
bell rings and the silent scene comes to life: doors swing open and teenagers fill the hall, a flood of
color and sound in bright sneakers, blue jeans or leggings, sweat pants or skirts, plaid shirts, tee shirts,
or hoodies, carrying backpacks, water bottles or coffee cups, smart phones, some plugged into their
own soundtracks and moving purposefully, others strolling in small groups, or standing near doorways
waiting for friends. Chris walks down ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

A New List Of Sustainable Development Goals
On September 25th, the UN officially announced a new list of Sustainable Development Goals(SDG
s) that would replace the previous Millennium Development Goals (MDG s) that would expire in
2015. Among the list of SDG s released by the UN, was one in particular, goal number 14, which
stated, in relation to Oceans, the aim to Conserve and sustainably use the oceans, seas, and marine
resources for sustainable development. In addition to setting the goal previously mentioned, the UN
also set out a list of targets in order to evaluate the set goals. 14.1) According to a recent article by
Dong Chen, Paul Szostak, Zongsu Wei, and Ruiyang Xiao, there have been significant eutrophication
issues as a result of nutrient runoffs from farmlands into natural water bodies, such as lakes, rivers,
streams, etc. The nutrients, such as Phosphorus, that runoff from the farmlands into the water bodies
act as a limiting agent for the growth of algae. In other words, they prevent the algae from growing,
and as a result, affect the whole ecosystem of that water body. In an article published in Sensors
Journal, in June 2015, Underwater wireless sensor networks (UWSNs) were announced as possible
means of detecting and observing aquatic environments. According to this article, these sensors would
be used in a variety of ways, namely to monitor pollution, prevent disasters from occurring, or assisted
navigation and to send monitored data to the sink. However, we do not need to wait until the

Difference Between Supernatural And Supernatural
In today s production of films, ghosts and paranormal beings are a popular topic. However, even with
today s modern science, there is no legitimate proof of ghosts or spirits. When unexplainable things
happen when no one else is around, the idea of a paranormal being might seem rational. Despite the
speculation of the phenomenon, what exactly is paranormal activity and how do residual areas become
haunted by these spirits? The terms supernatural and paranormal are often confused. Supernatural is
relating more to faith or something we cannot completely comprehend or prove with our sciences.
Where as paranormal is something that cannot be explained with current knowledge and technology,
but most likely has a scientific reason for why it s happening. (Kelly) The difference between both
supernatural and paranormal has to do with being able to explain and understand the paranormal with
whatever available science. Religion might often be pushed into the category for supernatural, as with
the science available, we cannot fully explain ideologies of religion. With the paranormal, mediocre
equipment is used to supposedly make contact with the supernatural. It s believed that the supernatural
will eventually be able to be explained with advanced science. There have been many reports of
residual areas all around Kansas that have been determined as either haunted or rich with paranormal
activity. A famous example is the Topeka State Hospital, which was an asylum that was in
