The PARAPHILIAS

Coinage of the term  paraphilia  ( paraphilie ) has been credited to  Friedrich Salomon Krauss  in 1903, It was used with some regularity by Wilhelm Stekel  in the 1920s . The term comes from the  Greek  πα ρά ( para ) "beside" and φιλί α ( -philia ) "friendship, love".

Paraphilia  (also known as  sexual perversion  and  sexual deviation ) is the experience of intense  sexual arousal  to atypical objects, situations, or individuals.

People with Paraphilias ; Have recurrent Intense sexual arousing fantasies Sexual urges Or behavior’s that generally involve; Non human objects Suffering or humiliation of one self or one’s partner Children or other non consenting person.

“To meet DSM-IV-TR criteria, these must last atleast 6months.” According to DSM-IV-TR five of this these conditions can be diagnosed simply if the person has acted on his fantasies or urges and has not experienced significant distress or impairment

Paraphilias are unusual sexual interests, but they need not cause harm either to the individual or others. Only if they cause such harm do they become paraphilic disorders.

Individuals with paraphilias or may not have persistent desires to change their sexual preferences, because nearly all such persons are male.
