PARTITIONS
•A partition wall may be defined as a wall or
division made up of various materials and
provided for the purpose of dividing one room or
portion of the room from other.
PANELS
•Single piece of material, usually flat and cut into a
rectangular shape, that serves as the visible and
exposed covering for a wall.

Frame work frames are manufactured to integrate into partitions
and can be adapted to accommodate varying wall conditions.
1.Plywood
•Sheet material manufactured from thin layers or piles of wood veneer
that are glued together with adjacent layers having their wood grain
rotated up to 90 degrees to one another.
•Standard thickness : 6mm,8mm,12mm,19mm
•Standard sheet size : 1200mm×2400mm
•Composition : all plywood, bind resin and wood fibre sheets
(cellulosecells are long, strong and thin) to form acomposition
material.
•Types : softwood plywood, hardwood plywood, tropical plywood

WHY PLYWOOD OVER TRADITIONAL WOOD?
•It is flexible, inexpensive, workable and
re-usable.
•It can usually be manufactured locally.
•Plywood is also resistant to cracking,
shrinkage, splitting, twisting and/or
warping.
•It also has a high degree of strength.

2). ALUMINIUM FRAMEWORK
•Standard thickness –4mm,6mm
•Easy to install
•Water proof
•Light in weight
•Termite proof
•Rust resistant
•Fire proof

3) MILD STEEL FRAMEWORK
•Difficult to install
•WATER proof
•Heavy in weight
•Termite proof
•Fire proof
•Pre fabrication is done
•Holes for services are done
beforehand
•Difficult to transport

PANELS
(1)PLYWOOD SHEET
•STANDARAD THICKNESS –6mm , 8mm , 12mm , 19mm
•STANDARD SHEET SIZE –1200mm x 2400mm
•Economical
•Easy to manage
•Faster to assemble
•Cant be used as the exterior material
•Polish , paint , veneer , laminates and other cladding
Materials can be applied to get the desired look .
•For fixture –screwing , nailing and adhesive

•Composition-wood fiber panel coloured throughout, wherefibers are
coloured individually, impregnated with organic dyes and bonded
together by a special resin.
•Standard thickness –8mm , 12mm , 19mm , 30mm
•Standard sheet size –2500mm X 1250mm
•Can be used as an exterior paneling material
•Available in different colours
•Polish can be done to get the glossy finish
•After 3-4 years there are chances that the color may fade
•For fixture –screwing , nailing and adhesive
(2.)VALCHROMAT

•Composition –hard/soft wood fibers , resin binder , wax
•Standard thickness –2.3mm , 4mm , 6mm, 8mm , 12mm , 15mm , 25mm, 30mm
•STANDARD SHEET SIZE –1200mm X 2400mm
•Softer then valchromat
•Available in different colours
•Cant be used in the exterior
•Most suitable when paint has to be applied over it
•After few years it is prone to termite
•Fixture –fevicol , screwing and nailing
(4) MDF

MAIN DIFFERENCES
1.Moisture resistant: suitable for load bearing
in any indoor environment
2.Higher internal bond: little or no sanding
after machining
3.Coloured throughout: maybe explored in all
dimensions
4.Higher bending strength: maybe curved
then bent
5.Higher surface density: requires less labour to
finish
6.Tools last up to five times longer
Valcromat is an evolution of MDF and is clearly
superior to coloured MDF

•Composition –dry mixture of pinewood and cement
•STANADRD THICKNESS –8mm , 10mm , 12mm , 15mm , 18mm , 21mm, 24mm , 28mm
•STANDARD SHEET SIZE –2600mm X 1250mm
•Can be used as an exterior material
•Stone appearance
•Sound insulation
•Thermal insulation
•Fixture –screwing , silicon
(3) VIROC

•Composition –wood flakes , cement
•STANDARAD THICKNESS –6mm , 8mm , 12mm, 19mm
•Available in different colours
•Can be used as an exterior paneling material
•Fire resistant
•Usually wooden framing of wood is done for paneling of
cement sheet
•Fixture –screwing , silicon
(5) CEMENT SHEET
screw
post
Cement sheet

•Composition –thin slices of wood
•Standard thickness –3mm
•Standard sheet size –1200mm x 2400mm
•Termite proof veneer are also available
•Cant be used as an exterior material
•Available in different textures and colours
•Fixture –nailing , fevicol
(6). VENEER

•Composition –100% natural ( clay ,
feldspar silica , natural oxide)
•STANDARD THICKNESS –3mm , 6mm
,12mm , 20mm
•STANDARAD SHEET SIZE –3200mm X
1500mm , 3600 mm X 1200mm , 2600mm

•600mm X 600mm , 750mm X 750m,
1500mm X 750 , 1200mm X 600mm
•Available in different colors , textures and
finishes
•Can be used as an exterior material
•Resistant to higher temperature and uv
rays
•Scratch resistant
•Colourdoes not fade away
•Recyclable
•Fixture -adhesive
