Parts of Sewing Machines
2. Bobbin binder spindle - During winding, bobbin is placed here.

5. Balance Wheel - The balance wheel, or hand wheel, is the round wheel located at the upper right of the sewing machine. The balance wheel manually advances the sewing machine. The balance wheel should only be turned in the direction that advances the sewing machine—never in the opposite direction.
6. Needle - is a specialized needle for use in a sewing machine. A sewing machine needle consists of: shank - clamped by the sewing machine's needle holder. shoulder - where the thick shank tapers down to the shaft.
7. Presser foot: Presser foot holds the fabric in its definite place.
8. Treadle - [from OE tredan , to tread] is a part of a machine which is operated by the foot to produce reciprocating or rotary motion in a machine such as a weaving loom (reciprocating) or grinder (rotary).
9. D rive wheel - the big wheel below the machine that is connected to the treadle.
10. S titch regulator - regulates the length of stitches.
11. Belt - belt- connects the balance wheel and the drive wheel.
