5 Analogy . An analogy is a figure of speech that creates a comparison by showing how to seemingly different entities are alike, along with illustrating a larger point due to their commonalities, As a literary device ,the purpose analogy is not just to make a comparison, but to provide an explanation as well as with additional information or context.

6 Allegory . Allegory is a symbolism device where the meaning of the greater, often abstract concept is conveyed with the aid of a more material object or idea being used as an example.

7 Caesura . Caesura involves creating a fracture of sorts within a sentence where the two separate parts are distinguishable from one another yet intrinsically linked to one another.

9 Deus Ex Machina refers to the incidence where the implausible concept or character is brought into the story in order to resolve the conflict and to bring about a pleasing solution.

Identify what figurative language is being asked in the sentences. 1. This figurative language refers to the use of concepts or ideas that are contradictory to one another. 2. This figurative language is saying something is like something else to make some sort of explanatory point.
3. Is a plot device whereby a seemingly unsolvable problem in a story is suddenly and/or abruptly resolved by an unexpected and unlikely occurrence. 4. A story, poem, or picture that can be interpreted to reveal a hidden meaning, typically a moral or political one. 5. A stop or pause in a metrical line, often marked by punctuation or by a grammatical boundary, such as a phrase or clause.
