Axial Movements Axial Movements

1. Bend or Flex – T o move the body or part of the body around a wide axis.

2. Lift/Rise – T o elevate a part of the body to a desired level.

3. Stretch, Extend, and Straighten – T o lengthen a part of the body.

4. Twist – T o move around a long axis.

5. Circler – T o move a body around point.

6. Swing – T o move continuously from one point to the other.

7. Turn, rotate – to change directions to move around an axis.

Locomotor Movements Locomotor Movements

1. Walk – I s a series of steps in all directions.

2. Run – I s a walk with longer stride with a push-off by the foot suspends the body momentarily in the air.

3. Hop – I s to spring one foot and land on the same foot.

4. Skip – I s to step and hop with the same foot.

5. Leap – I s to spring one foot land on the other foot.

6. Jump – I s to spring on both feet and to land on one or both feet.

7. Gallop – I s a combined step and a cut.

8. Slide – I s to glide the foot right and left along a smooth surface.
