JUNGLE ADVENTURE LOCOMOTOR AND NON-LOCOMOTOR ACTIVITY

When I say “ Freeze! ,” students stop and hold a non-locomotor pose.

Let’s start by walking carefully into the jungle.”

“The trees are so tall! Let’s stretch our arms up high to touch the leaves.”

“Oh no! There’s a big log in the way. Let’s jump over it!”

“Uh-oh, I think I hear something behind us... Twist your body to look around.”

“Whew! It’s just a monkey! Let’s skip ahead to follow it.”

“The ground is muddy! Let’s march carefully through the mud.”

“Look! There’s a tall tree with bananas. Let’s reach and bend to pick some.”

“Wait! A tiger is sleeping nearby. Shhh ! Let’s tiptoe very quietly.”

“Freeze! Don’t make a sound!”

“Great job, explorers! Now let’s run back to camp before it rains!”

“And now we’ve made it home. Take a deep breath... and stretch to cool down.”
