Pelvimetry The Pelvimetry gives the information of the measurement of the female pelvis where to find where the pelvis cavity is capable for natural process of birth or not.

Purpose: Cephalopelvic disproportion to allow the foetus to p a s s through the birth canal

P’s in labour Anatomy Passenger- The Foetus. Passage way – The child birth canal. Power of the labour- Force of the uterine contraction.

Pelvimetry Measurements

Pelvimetry Measurements Transverse diameter of pelvic inlet: The illeopectineal lines at the widest transverse distance. Normal Range( 13 to 14.5) cm.

Pelvimetry Measurements Interspinous distance: The line between the closest bony points of the ischial spines. Normal Range (9.5 to 11.5)cm.

Pelvimetry Measurements Intertuberous diameter: The closest bony points of the ischial tuberosities . Normal Range (10 to 12)cm.

Pelvimetry Measurements Sagittal pelvic outlet diameter: The bony points of sacro coccygeal joint and the pubic bone next to the symphysis pubis . Normal Range (9.5 to 11.5)cm . Intertuberous diameter: The closest bony points of the ischial tuberosities . Normal Range (10 to 12)cm.

Pelvimetry Measurements Sagittal pelvic outlet diameter: The bony points of sacro coccygeal joint and the pubic bone next to the symphysis pubis . Normal Range (9.5 to 11.5)cm . Obstetric Conjugate of pelvic inlet : The line between the closest bony points of the sacral promontory and pubic bone next to symphysis. Normal Range (10 to 12)cm.
