Introduction Performance management is an act in the company where the leaders and the staff work communally to organize, monitor and revise the workforce goals of the employees and the benefits in the company. The main aim of performance management is to help an organization in promoting and enhancing the effectiveness of the employees
Goal Setting Theory Goal setting theory: this is an approach proposed by Locke in 1968 that implies that the personal goals implemented by a worker are significant in influencing the employee for good performance.
Expectancy Theory Expectancy theory: is a theory proposed by Vroom in 1964 and it is founded on the hypothesis that a person adjusts their attitude in a company depending on the predicted satisfaction of the goal set
MBO Management by Objectives (MBO) is a model for performance management in an organization usually used to facilitate an improvement in the performance by defining the objectives agreed by the management and the employees.
360 Degree Feedback 360-degree feedback process is where an individual is evaluated by the superiors, the peers, direct reports and also customers. A person usually gets an analysis of the way they perceive themselves and how other people look at them. Individually, the process helps one to understand their personality from the perspectives of the outsiders and the growth demands are identified
Conclusion Establishing good performance management systems needs time and basic materials and thus, the effort of the board, the director, and other top leadership. While implementing new performance management activities, a company can make up a team that will comprise the employees, the, and the board persons to increase the buy-in, appreciating and support for the initiative.
