DEFINITION OF TERMS MANNERS ETIQUETTE T he way a person behaves towards others, showing respect, politeness, and consideration. A set of rules or customs that dictate how to behave properly in social and pproffessional settings.

1.1 Effective Introduction
SIX BASIC GUIDELINES TO INTRODUCTION Always stand. Always smile. Always look the person in the eye. Always shake hands- firmly. Always listen carefully. Always greet them with their names. A guideline: Don’t feel awkward. Remember that considerate manners always avoid embarrassment and put others at ease.
1.2 Words to Use
Polite and Positive Language Ex. “Please,” “Thank you,” “You’re welcome,” “I understand” Empathetic and Supportive Phrases Ex. “How can I help?” “I appreciate your perspective.” “That sounds interesting”
1.3 Words to Avoid
Negative or Dismissive Language Ex. “Whatever,” “But…” “Calm down” Impolite or Rude Language Ex. “Shut up,” “That’s stupid,” “You’re wrong”

Meaningful Questions Goals -What do you want to do when you graduate? Career? Thoughts -What movie have had the biggest influence in your life? Motives -How do you want to be remembered by your friends at school? Purpose -Is there anything in your life you’d be willing to die for? Faith -Do you know for certain that when you die you will go to heaven?

2.1_PERSONAL CONDUCT Use Polite Langugae E xample: “please”, “thank you”, and “excuse me” B e considerate and keep your voice at a reasonable volume. B e mindful and dress appropriately, also maintain personal hygiene. N oise Levels Y our Appearance
2.2_RESPECT FOR OTHERS PERSONAL SPACE R espect others by keeping a comfortable distance from them. P ractice being patient in queues and tolerate different cultures. Be polite in greeting others and offer assistance whenever you can. PATIENCE ACKNOWLEDGE OTHERS
2.3_ADHERING TO SOCIAL NORMS F ollow rules and regulation in public places. Ex: no smoking areas, quiet zones R espect privacy, avoid staring or eavesdropping. OBSERVE SOCIAL NORMS

4.1 Professional Communication Formal Language -use polite and respectful language in all professional interactions. Active Listening -pay attention, don’t interrupt, and respond thoughtfully. Email and Phone Etiquette -use clear subject lines, respond promptly, and maintain professionalism in voicemails.
4.2 Appearance and Punctuality Dress Code and Grooming -dress appropriately according to the companies standards and maintain good personal grooming. Punctuality -be on time for meetings and deadlines, and manage your time effectively.
4.3 Respect and Courtesy Respect for Hierarchy -use appropriate titles and show respect to everyone, regardless their position. Meeting Etiquette -come prepared, contribute appropriately, and take notes. Networking -introduce yourself with full names, exchange business cards politely and follow up after meetings or events.
Conclusion Practicing social grace helps foster respectful, courteous interactions in both public and professional settings, creating a more positive environment or everyone. By mastering this simple, yet important behaviors, we enhance our relationships and contribute to a more considerate society
