It was founded by distinguished members representing the entire spectrum of the hydrocarbon industry. The Governing Council of the society is well represented by the multinational, private sector and major public sector oil and energy companies.

Petrotech Student Chapters The Society has opened Student Chapters in following universities / institutes to provide opportunity and an interactive platform to the students’ community for organizing events/lectures etc regularly as part of their curriculum activities to develop a good working knowledge of entire Hydrocarbon chain

7. National & International Endeavors of Petrotech Society

8. 9 TH INTERNATIONAL OIL & GAS CONFERENCE The PETROTECH series of International Oil & Gas Conferences and Exhibitions is a prestigious biennial platform for the global hydrocarbon industry to deliberate and exchange ideas on petroleum economics, security, sustainability and environmental concerns, emerging technologies, processes, etc., and chart new directions for the industry. As the prime showcase of India's hydrocarbon sector, this coveted international event attracts delegates from across the world, including scientists, engineers, technocrats, Government officials, environmentalists and entrepreneurs.

9. Petrotech Society and ONGC will host the conference under the aegis of the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, Government of India, in New Delhi, India.   PETROTECH Conference commences on Oct 30th and runs through to Nov 3rd 2010. The Theme of the conference is “ Global Energy Equilibrium” .  The Conference will be inaugurated by the Hon'ble Prime Minister of India, Dr. Manmohan Singh .

10. Last year the theme for the 8 th International Conference 2009 was “Energy Independence with global co-operation: Challenges & Solutions ”

11. World Petroleum Council Youth Forum The 3rd WPC Youth Forum will be organized in India in association with PETROTECH – 2010, India’s largest Oil and Gas Conference and Exhibition from Oct 31st to Nov 3rd 2010. The intent is to provide the Youth with an eclectic mix of two opportunities; first, to participate in PETROTECH as delegates and engage with the crème de la crème of the global hydrocarbon sector as they dwell upon and unravel the conference theme ‘Global Energy Equilibrium’; second, to engage with their peers and actively participate in their own exclusive Youth Forum that has been designed to harness the energy of the Youth through participative and interactive engagements.

Petrotech Society’s MOU with University of Alberta, Canada Petrotech Society has entered into the MoU with University of Alberta, Canada to establish a frame-work for both the parties to work together in an effort to offer joint seminars and facilitate exchange of professional expertise in the area of Petroleum Management.

14. The Industry-Academia Interface Seminar It was inaugurated on 13th January 2009 at India Habitat Centre by Dr. Indira Samarasekera , President, University of Alberta, Canada. The two-day event was organized by PETROTECH Society and Schlumberger India to bring together industry professionals, students and academicians on a single platform to share knowledge, experience and expertise in the field of hydrocarbons.
