Thecommitteecaninviteexpertsfromotherhospitalsfor
itsmeetingsforexpertcomments,skillsandjudgments.
Thesecretaryshouldprepareanagendaforitsmeeting
andshouldcirculatewellinadvancetoallthemembers
andidentifiedinvitees.
Afterthemeeting,minutesofmeetingshouldbesentto
allitsmembersandthesameshouldbedocumentedin
thehospitalrecords.

Recommendationsofthecommitteeshallbe
presentedtothemedicalstafforitsappropriate
committeeforadoptionorrecommendation
PTCshouldmaintaintheliaisonwithotherhospital
committeessuchasinfectioncontrolcommitteeand
medicalauditcommittee.

hospitaladministratorspertainingtotheuseofdrugs
includinginvestigationaldrugs.
PTCplaysanimportantroleinthedevelopmentof
Formulary,selectionofdrugsforhospitaluse.
PTCdevelopssuitableeducationalprogramstothe
hospitalstaffpertainingtodruguse
PTCstudytheproblemsrelatedtothedistributionand
administrationofmedications,includingmedication
incidents.

Reviewsadversedrugreactionsoccurinthehospital.
Initiatesordirectsdrugusereviewprogramsand
studiesandreviewtheresultsofsuchactivities.
Advisesthepharmacyintheimplementationofeffective
drugdistributionandcontrolprocedures.
Makerecommendationsconcerningdrugstobe
stockedinhospitalpatientcarearea.
