Adjectives

ADJECTIVES Adjectives are words that modify nouns. Adjectives are words that tell us more about a noun.

Adjectives usually come before nouns, but they can also modify nouns even when not right before them.

Phrasal Adjectives

PHRASAL ADJECTIVES A phrasal adjectives, also known as compound adjectives, is a set of two or more words that modify a noun.

Phrasal Adjectives can be hyphenated or not hyphenated.

Hyphens (-) Hyphens are often used to create compound words when two or more words are combined to form a single word with a specific meaning. Example: long + term = Long-term (refers to a lasting or extending over a long period.)

Hyphenated Phrasal Adjectives

Hyphenated Phrasal Adjectives - used when they come BEFORE the described noun and show the words interdependence. (PA - N) - used when they identify amount, money, or duration.

Non-Hyphenated Phrasal Adjectives
