Orthopedically handicapped
•The "Orthopedically" handicapped
are thosewho have a physical
defect or deformity which
causes an interference with the
normal functioning of bones,
muscles and joints.

Sensory handicapped
•“Sensory disabilities” can involve any of the five senses,
but for educational purposes, it generally refers toa
disability related to hearing, vision, or both hearing
and vision. Sensory disabilities affect access –access to
visual and/or auditory information.
•Sensory disabilities arethe disabilities affecting an
individual's senses, such as hearing, sight, touch, smell,
and taste.The main causes of sensory disabilities include
accidents or injury, genetic factors, illnesses, or
environmental factors.

Neurologically handicapped
•Neurological disability —sometimes referred to as
neurological disorders —involves damage to the
nervous system that results in some mental or
bodily function loss. This type of disability can be
caused by infections, heart attacks, genetic disorders
or lack of oxygen.
•Epilepsy
•Alzheimer's Disease, and other types of dementia
•Migraines
•Strokes
•Parkinson's Disease
•Multiple Sclerosis
•Cerebral Palsy and more

Handicapped due to systemic diseases
•Systemic disabilities areconditions
affecting one or more of the body's
systems. These include the respiratory,
immunological, neurological and circulatory
systems. There are many kinds of systemic
disabilities varying significantly in their
effects and symptoms.
•Example, high blood pressure

•Handicapbothmentallyandphysically
•InEnglishitiscalledmentallyimpairedandphysicallydisabled.
•If any part of our body becomes inactivated, it is called
physically challenged.
•Forexample, aschoolgoing childisunableto
participate inany activityeitherathomeorinthe
society.
•Physicallychallengedareclassifiedonthebasisoftheir
impairment.
•Forexample,ifthereis alegorhandbecomesinactive,thenit
is calledphysicallychallenged.
