2. Main Platform: The use of the blue banner adheres to the fact that he is a young man and blue is usually the colour identified to boys/men. However the use of the swirly font and the light almost baby blue makes the channel appealing to both male and female. By doing this he doesn’t restrict is TA. Promotes his other forms of social media – means that all his platforms are easily accessible.

3. Alfie Deyes : A 24 year old English YouTuber and author who runs the YouTube channels PointlessBlog , PointlessBlogVlogs and PointlessBlogGames . Since 2014 he has released three books in his Pointless Book series and one as an autobiography. He is the boyfriend of famous blogger ‘ Zoella ’ , Zoe Sugg . You could argue she has boosted his popularity, although he has built up his own loyal fanbase .

4. Youtube : Deyes started his PointlessBlog YouTube channel in 2009. As of May 2016, the channel has over 5.5 million subscribers and over 468 million views on YouTube. Large followings on both other accounts Deyes has collaborated with a number of other YouTubers; including Tanya Burr, Louis Cole, Louise Pentland , Grace Helbig , Tyler Oakley, Troye Sivan, Miranda Sings, Joe Sugg , Zoe Sugg and Jim Chapman. He also created a couple of videos with Ariana Grande for the You Generation network on YouTube

5. Other social media platforms: Both his Instagram and twitter , have high followings. He continues to post regularly on both similarly to his frequent posts on his YT channel. All of his social media intertwine.

Representation: Age And Gender = It is evident from his platforms of social media that Alfie conforms to the typical young lad stereotype this is conveyed to us through the colour of his Chanel banner , the topics of his YT videos and what we see he gets up to on his insta and twitter accounts. Ethnicity and class= He presents himself as a middle class white man, evident through the way he speaks, he is well spoken and doesn’t use what we may call ‘ chavvy ’ slang. Not only this but his name is Alfred which he shortens to Alfie. He does not post on other ethnicities. Sexuality= It is clear that he is heterosexual , this is because he posts regularly with his girlfriend ‘ Zoella ’ and she posts regularly with him. However he is not uncomfortable with homosexuality as he has openly spoken about sharing a kiss with a fellow famous you tuber and he lives in Brighton which is similar in diversity to London where ethnicity and sexuality can be freely expressed.

7. Target Audience: Young teenage males/ young men from the content he posts. Not exclusive. Colours and videos used could attract other audiences. Collaborations with other you tubers makes it easier to build and expand his fan base.
