By Population explosion, we mean very rapid and unprecedented growth of population which creates a lot of problems in the country. * The litral meaning of population is “the whole number of people or inhabitants in a country or region. In simple words it could be defined as increase in birth rates and decrease in death rates. POPULATION EXPLOSION
When we look at the figures of Indian census from time-to-time, we observe that there is an enormous growth of our population from 1931 onwards. This is shown in the figure. Today, population explosion is a major problem faced by developing countries of the world.
🔷 grows at an annual rate of 2% can double in 35years . It has happened in India population. By 2045, it is expected that we will be most populous country in the world. People of the Republic of china may be pushed to the second position, because the rate of population in their country has come down with enforcement of one child to a family.
⏩The ill effect of such sudden explosion of population is devastating on the national economy. All our planning and efforts become futile under these unfavorabl demograhic conditions.

Planned control of population :- The only practicable method to control world Population is to reduced the birth rate. It can be achieved by Education Increasing marriageable age Family planning
Education :- young people of reproductive age group should be educated about the benefits of small family. Mass media (radio, television, newspaper, magazines, poster ) and education institutions can play an important role in this campaigning.
MARRIAGEABLE AGE :- Present marriageable age is 18 years for female and 21 years for males. Population experts explain that raising marriageable from 18 to 20 or 22 would bring down the birth rate by 20-30% an ICMR report has shown that about 49% women in india are married before the legal age of 18 years.
