Portable Ventilator OXYLOG 3000 Respiratory Therapy Specialist : Mohammed Talal Almarwani

What is meaning portable ?

Respiratory system and Mechanism of respiratory

Mechanism of respiratory negative pressure is pressure lower than the atmospheric pressure, whereas positive pressure is pressure that it is greater than the atmospheric pressure . Pulmonary ventilation comprises two major steps: inspiration and expiration .  Inspiration   is the process that causes air to enter the lungs, and  expiration  is the process that causes air to leave the lungs .   R espiratory cycle (RR)  is one sequence of inspiration and expiration.

Mechanical Ventilation It is machine used positive-pressure to given breath according to machine parameter and case of the patient . PARAMETER AND SITTING OF MV Mode ( Volume control , Pressure Control , MIX ) Fio2 (O2) Fraction of Inspired Oxygen . Tidal volume Vt : Tidal volume is the amount of air delivered with each breath . PEEP : Positive End Expiratory Pressure . Respiratory Rate (RR) I:E ratio of inspiratory  time : expiratory   time .

Management Mechanical Ventilation For Oxygenation - Fio2 - PEEP For Ventilation - Tidal Volume - Respiratory Rate

Initial setting of MV Volume Control mode Tidal volume ( Vt ) set depending on gander then ideal body weight and lung status , male from 400 ml to 450 ml , female 350 ml to 400 ml . Fio2 : 100% PEEP : 5 RR : 14 to 18 per minuet I:E ratio 1:2 After 15 to 30 miutes , check the ABG and CXR to do changes on the setting .

definition Portable ventilation or Transport ventilation: it is Mechanical ventilation we can use it if we need transfer intubated patient to any place inside or outside hospital For example : To another hospital To radiology To OR To ICU
