Description
Leadership an act of administrative competence, diplomacy and
tact, social skills, inventiveness and persuasiveness.
Reflective Outcome
Change in thinking, analytical observation and critical reflection
observed and improved thoroughly.
Reflection on Process
When we implemented the processes we made it simple and open
to express feelings and concerns. As a learning I have decided to
deep dive more into planning and feedback process to accomplish
the task precisely.
Reflection on the Others Experiences
There was a high level of engagement and peer learning
opportunities. Being a group leader I did not restrict myself from the
new learnings and improve my competencies. .
Reflection on Personal Experience
I believe, I never introspect my work once it finishes up. This process
had make me to start thinking differently as a performance matrix. I
got to learn that it is easy to criticize others but difficult to lead and
succeed.
Learning from Reflection
I could never able to visualize the efforts leader put to make
organization progressive. The controls and power implied through
the processes are meant to run organization effectively. I got to
understand various leadership virtues demanded with changing
needs.
Action Plan
I will try and learn more leadership tacts and implement into the
organization when I get the chance.
Key Learning Points
By learning leadership module I can be able to formulate and
implement effective strategies, find innovative ideas, tackle social
issues and broader challenges an organization face.
REFELCTION ON LEADERSHIP ACTIVITIES THROUGH TUCKMAN’S
DEVELOPMENT MODEL
Description
The reflection on the group project through Belbin team model. We
have started with identifying the skills, to aligning individual roles, to
process, to feedback, to action plan using Gibbs reflective model.
Reflective Outcome
It was possible to get to know each other well and their skills. We build
up strong comprehensions amongst as a group.
Reflection on Process
We have developed the process of skill identification through a small
game “Skill Show”. Progress monitoring has been developed through
Google Sheet. Any challenges have been openly discussed and
resolved through shared leadership approach.
Reflection on the Others Experiences
Group members have felt the process comfortable and overtly
communicative. After initial hiccups, they tend to resolve the issues
among team and developed the greater sense of responsibilities.
Reflection on Personal Experience
It was first time for me to lead the diverse group. I was bit nervous and
excited too. I loved putting myself at the center of the team and learnt
new skills and culture of the members. That helped to relearn the
approach and bettered entire process.
Learning from Reflection
I could see the difference in process adopted through the model to the
methods were used before, that improved the productivity followed by
the result.
Action Plan
I will use this model through my entire life journey.
Key Learning Points
It is imperative to keep team motivated, driven through collective
decision making and extend them shared leadership responsibility and
ownership through leading the team.
REFELCTION ON TEAM BUILDING THROUGH BELBIN MODEL
Reflection is an important aspect of learning from experience
and is essential for establishing and sustaining competency
over the course of one's career.
Moon (2004) says, the goal of reflection is to figure out what is
previously known and to add new information, resulting in
knowledge, new meaning, and a better degree of
comprehension.
Reflection in the context of intentionally looking into and
considering experiences, actions, emotions, sentiments, and
reactions are thus interconnected. It is a conscious decision as
well as a methodical way to thinking about encounters with the
goal of learning and changing behaviors. (Boud, Keogh, and
Walker, 1985)
Gibbs (1988) reflective cycle consists of six phases of reflection
and action followed by an experience, are as,
Description - Briefing of what happened.
Feelings - Thoughts and thoughts that transpired at the
moment are investigated.
Evaluation - An analysis is performed by identifying what was
pleasant and problematic about the event.
Analysis - This analysis entails making sense of the
circumstance and recognizing the influence it had on the
practice.
Conclusion - Literature is researched and colleagues are
consulted at this stage to better comprehend the problem and
determine what extra might have been done.
Action - A future plan of action is developed, including alternate
ways in the event that this or a similar circumstance arises in
the future.
I will use this model to reflect on learnings with two different
examples.
