Introduction
Organic farming is the form of agriculture
that relies on techniques such as crop
rotation, green manure, compost and
biological pest control to maintain soil
productivity and control pests on a farm.
It is two type
•Integrated organic farming
•Pure organic farming
Principle
•The substitution of manure and other
organic mater as organic fertilizers.
•The use of biological pest control
instead of chemical pest control.
In India
As per the available statistics, India's rank 8th in terms of
World's Organic Agricultural land and 1st in terms of total
number of producers as per 2020 data (Source: FIBL &
IFOAM Year Book, 2020).
•As on 31st March 2021 total area under
organic certification process is4339184.93
ha(2020-21).

•India produced around3496800.34
MT(2020-21) of certified organic
products which includes all varieties of
food products.
