INTRODUCTION:
Postmodernism is a style or way of thinking that
came after modernism. It does not follow strict
rules and prefers mixing things up. It include
traditional ideas and focuses on being creative,
flexible, and fun.
Key Ideas:
No Single Truth:
Mix of Styles:
Rejects Simplicity:
Loves Decoration:
FAMOUS ARCHITECT:
FRANK GEHRY.

FRANK GHERY:
Born in Toronto in 1929, Gehry moved to
Los Angeles in 1947 and went on to earn
a degree in architecture from USC. After
spending several years studying urban
planning at Harvard and working in
Paris, he opened his own small
architecture firm in Santa Monica in
1962.
Frank Gehry is a celebrated architect
known for his unique and innovative
postmodern designs. He creates
structures that break conventional forms
and often resemble sculptures. Gehry's
use of unconventional materials, such as
titanium and his focus on fluid shapes,
has made him a global icon. Blending
functionality with artistic expression in
his works.

DESIGN PROCESS:
Gehry's experiential design process involves
creating his buildings through slow, meticulous
design studies, which involve sketching and
physical models in various scales, with which
he explores the functional, formal, and
contextual aspects of the project.

The building is metaphorically called
the Dancing House or also Ginger and
Fred. It is named this way because of
the towers reminding of the famous
dancers Ginger Rogers and Fred Astair.
The male part of the dancing couple is
represented by a rock tower and the
woman is symbolized by a tower made
of glass.
Began with hand-drawn
sketches capturing the
dynamic, wave-like
forms.Developed numerous
physical models using paper,
wood, and metal to refine the
design.
