MAKNA PENELITIAN PENDIDIKAN Proses yang sistematis untuk memperoleh pengetahuan (to discover knowledge) dan pemecahan masalah ( problem solving) pendidikan melalui metode ilmiah , baik dalam pengumppulan maupun analisis datanya , serta membuat rumusan generalisasi berdasarkan penafsiran data tersebut .

3. Ungkapan yang sering muncul dalam penelitian adalah No Problem no research. Ungkapan ini menunjukan tentang pentingnya posisi masalah dalam suatu penelitian . Yang menjadi persoalan adalah apakah masalah itu ? Untuk menjawab pertanyaan tersebut , berikut dikemukakan indikator-indikatornya . Apabila sesuatu , peristiwa , atau fenomena yang terjadi menimbulkan keragu-raguan atau ketidak pastian . Apabila terjadi kesenjangan antara harapan / sesuatu yang diinginkan dengan kenyataan . Apabila cara-cara berpikir yang berbeda menghasilkan kesimpulan-kesimpulan yang berlawanan . Apabila terjadi peristiwa-peristiwa yang mengancam ( seperti epidemic, banjir , longsor , dekadensi moral, dsb ). B. Masalah Penelitian Pendidikan

4. C. TUJUAN PENELITIAN Apabila dikaitkan dengan output yang ingin dicapai . Penelitian bertujuan untuk untuk memperoleh pengetahuan , pemecahan masalah , atau rumusan teori-teori baru . Sedangkan apabila ditilik dari segi prosesnya , penelitian bertujuan untuk : 1. Mendeskripsikan , memberikan atau menggambarkan secara jelas dan cermat tentang data, atau fakta , dan permasalahan yang di teliti . 2. Menerangkan ( eksplanasi ) kondisi atau faktor-faktor yang mendasari , melatarbelakangi terjadinya masalah . 3. Menyusun atau merumuskan teori-teori hukum-hukum mengenai hubungan antara faktor yang satu dengan yang lainnya , atau peristiwa yang satu dengan peristiwa yang lainnya . 4. Membuat prediksi , estimasi , dan proyeksi mengenai peristiwa - peristiwa yang akan terjadi atau gejala-gejala yang bakal muncul . 5. Mengendalikan peristiwa-peristiwa atau gejala-gejala berdasarkan temuan-temuan yang diperoleh . BELAJAR ITU TIDAK PERNAH MEMBOSANKAN

5. D. KARAKTERISTIK PENDIDIKAN 1 . Penelitian Merupakan Proses yang Sistematik Hal ini dapat di lihat dari keteraturan , keruntutan dari keterkaitan antara komponen yang satu dengan yang lainnya . Keteraturan seperti dalam penemuan masalah , penyusunan rancangan penelitian , pengumpulan data, dan penafsiran data. 2 . Penelitian Bersifat Logis Dalam penelitian dituntut prosedur pembuatan kesimpulan yang cermat . Untuk itu diperlukan kemampuan logika yang memadai .
