5. OUTLINING ·Outlining pertains to the process of creating a framework for writing. ·An outline is the framework of ideas; main idea and supporting details which a writer follows in writing a paragraph or an article.

6. TYPES OF OUTLINE: Topic Outline - In the topic outline, the headings are given in single words or brief phrases. 2. Sentence Outline - In the sentence outline, all the headings are expressed in complete sentences.

8. FORMATS OF OUTLINE: Number Letter Format - It is the use of the number, then letter in an outline. - Use the Roman Numerals for the main headings. Decimal Outline Format -This type makes use of decimal numbers in place of the number-letters used in the first example. Arabic number 1 is used instead of a Roman numeral 1 for the main heading. Number 1.1 is used in case there is a subheading for the first main heading; numbers 1.2 if there is another subheading that follows it.
