2. Pengertian Recount Text Recount text  adalah jenis text dalam  Bahasa Inggris   yang menceritakan (retell) tentang suatu cerita, tindakan, atau kegiatan. Biasanya, recount text menceritakan tentang pengalaman seseorang. Tujuan yang komunikatif dari recount text ialah untuk dapat menceritakan sebuah pengalaman atau kejadian dan peristiwa yang terjadi pada masa lalu secara kronologis atau juga secara berurutan dengan tujuan sebagai entertain atau menghibur para pembaca atau pendengar.

3. Type of Recount Text / Jenis Recount Text Personal Recount Personal recount yakni salah satu jenis teks yang berfungsi untuk dapat menceritakan tentang pengalaman pribadi penulis. Factual Recount Faktual recount ialah sebuah jenis teks yang berisi laporan suatu peristiwa yang benar-benar terjadi, misalnya laporan tentang sebuah kecelakaan . . Imaginative Recount Imaginative yaitu salah satu jenis recou n t teks yang berguna untuk dapat menyajikan cerita imaginative yang dialami seseorang . Contoh cerita khayalan yang ia dapatkan dari sebuah mimpi yang dialaminya

4. Ciri-ciri Recount Text Menggunakan   kalimat Past Tense   (lampau), seperti went, departed, would, woke up, dan lain sebagainya. Menggunakan adverb dan adverbial phrase untuk mengungkapkan waktu, tempat dan cara, seperti: last week, last year, last September, yesterday , on then second day, two days ago dan lain sebagainya. Menggunakan  conjunction  dan time connectives guna mengurutkan peristiwa atau kejadian, seperti: and, before, then, after that, dan lain sebagainya

5. Generic Structure of Recount Text 1. Orientation Menceritakan mengenai latar belakang informasi tentang siapa, di mana, kapan kejadian atau peristiwa terjadi. 2. Events Menceritakan serangkaian peristiwa yang terjadi sesuai urutan kronologis. 3. Re-orientation Merupakan penutup atau kesimpulan cerita. Untuk menutup suatu cerita, kita bisa memberikan  opini  kita mengenai cerita tersebut.

6. ( Personal Recount ) A trip to the Zoo Yesterday my family went to the zoo to see the elephants When we got the zoo, we went to the shop to buy some food to give to the animals. After getting the food. We went to the nocturnal house where we saw birds and reptiles which only come out at night. Before lunch, we went for a ride on the elephant. It was a thrill to ride it. Dad nearly fell off when he let go of the rope. During lunch, we fed some birds in the park. In the afternoon, we saw the animals being fed. 7. Factual Recount On December 9, 2022 there was a truck accident on the Jakarta toll road. This truck accident was caused by truck drivers not keeping their distance from other vehicles. So when trying to brake, the truck fell and overturned on the Jakarta toll road. The police reported that this accident did not cause any fatalities, however it caused a traffic jam on the Jakarta toll road.

8. Imaginative Recount Being a Spiderman I dreamed of being a superhero when I was a teenager. I imagined myself as Spiderman. One day, when I was fishing at the river I was bitten by a spider and luckily I was not dying. At first I felt cold for 24 hours and I was alone in my room. Nobody knew about it. I didn’t tell my family because I was afraid they would be angry with me. After that, something had happened in my body and I still did not recognize it. I lived as I did usually, went to school, went home, ate, did some activities and so on.
