2. Apa yang dimaksud dengan Gelombang Elektromagnetik (GEM)? Gelombang Elektromagnetik (GEM) : Gelombang yang tidak memerlukan medium untuk merammbat Gelombang Elektromagnetik (GEM) : Dibentuk oleh medan magnet dan medan listrik yang saling merambat tegak lurus.

Sifat-Sifat Gelombang Elektromagnetik Dapat merambat dalam ruang hampa (tidak memerlukan medium untuk merambat) Tidak bermuatan listrik Merupakan gelombang trnasversal (arah getarnya tegak lurus dengan arah perambatannya dimana getaran medan listrik tegak lurus terhadap medan magnet dan keduanya tegak lurus terhadap arah perambatannya. Arah perambatannya tidak dibelokkan, baik pada medan listrik maupun pada medan magnet. Memiliki sifat umum gelombang, yaitu dapat mengalami polarisasi (pengkutuban), refleksi (pemantulan), refraksi (pembiasan), interferensi (perpaduan), difraksi (pelenturan).
