2. Aleuromountzouromata is a custom that dates back in Byzantine times or comes from Sicily approximately two centuries back. Nowadays, the small city becomes colourful on Ash Monday because that day people throw flour of all colours to each other.

3. It’s a kind of war. They wear helmets, goggles, long anoraks and gloves to protect themselves from the flour fog which covers everything. A lot of tourists go there to watch or take part in the battle. This festival ends the carnival period. 13/2/2023
