01 Find out the usages of present simple USAGES

1. We use present simple to ….. Talk about something is true in the present We use the present simple to talk about general facts that are always true and permanent about the world: Ex: Ten times ten  makes one hundred.  (10 x 10 = 100) The sun rises in the East.

1. We use present simple to ….. Talk about something is true in the present We use the present simple to talk about general facts that we think are true and permanent at the present time Ex: I really love my job. Spiders don’t frighten me.

2. We use present simple to ….. Talk about regular and habitual events We use the present simple to talk about regular or habitual events (often use with adverbs) Ex: I read every night before I go to sleep. We always have a holiday in the summer.

3. We use present simple to ….. Talk about timetables and plans We use the present simple to talk about events that are part of a future plan or timetable: Ex: The lesson starts at 9.30 tomorrow instead of 10.30. Lunch is at 12.30. Don’t be late. The train leaves at 3pm

WE ADD S/ES TO THE VERB S ES IES We add “s” to most of the verbs Examples: walks, sings, learns,… We add “es” to verbs end in “O, S, SS, CH, X, SH, Z” Ex: passes, goes, pushes, mixes,… With the verbs end in “1 consonant + y”, we change “y” to “ ies ” Ex: studies, copies,… Exception: enjoys, stays…
