The PRESENT CONTINUOUS is used to talk about actions or
events that are happening at the moment:

3. USE 2Longer Actions in Progress Now
to say that we are in the process of doing
a longer action which is in progress;
however, we might not be doing it at this
exact second.

4. 3Near Future
Sometimes, speakers use the Present Continuous to indicate
that something will or will not happen in the near future
* I AM MEETING SOME FRIENDS AFTER WORK.

* WE ARE GOING TO THE PARTY TONIGHT.

5. RULES FOR VERB+ING
RULE 1
For most of the verbs just add ingat the end
Example:
Read = Reading
eat= eating
Regla 1: a la mayoría de los verbos solo se les agrega ING

6. RULE 2
Verbs ending in E:delete the E +ING
COME = COMING
Note: Itdoesn´t apply with double e
TAKE = TAKING
Regla 2: Verbos que terminan con la letra E, esta se elimina y se agrega ING al verbo

7. Rule 3
Verbs ending in IE: the IEchanges into Y +ING
die--> dying lie--> lying
lie--> lying
Regla 3: Verbos que terminan en IE, estas letras se
Cambian por la Y seguido de ING

8. Rule 4
Verbs of one syllable that end in
CONSONANT + VOWEL + CONSONANT ….
ADD THE LAST CONSONANT AND ING
EXEPTIONS: X, Y, W
stop--> stopping
begin--> beginning

Regla 4: verbos de una silaba que terminen en Consonante Vocal Consonante, su
Ultima consonante se vuele a repetir y se agrega ING

9. Rule 5 Verbs ending in L: the L is doubled +ING
travel--> travelling
