Intro
SIslam is an integral part in medical practice and research.
History proves their correlations.
SBasic science needs more recognition from muslim
scientists.

Background
SPeripheral blood aspiration is less invasive than bone
marrow aspiration to obtain stem cells (Maurice, et al., 2007)
SMPC cells are capable to differentiate into mesenchymal
lineage cells (osteoblast, chondroblast, adipocyte) (Battler
and Leor, 2006)
SbFGF promotes growth of various cells, notably bone
marrow stromal cells (Yuan, et al., 2013)

Objective
SThe aim of this study was to observe bFGF effect on
MPC cell proliferation

Materials and Methods
SStudy design: experimental
STechnical: MPC cells were divided into 6 groups

SAbsorbance number was measured using microplate
reader, and analyzed using Microsoft Excel 2011

Conclusion
SbFGF can be used as a cell culture supplement for
peripheral blood-derived mesenchymal progenitor cell
SFurther study needed to investigate a panel of growth
factor or small molecules to replace serum as stem cell
culture supplement.
