•Abstract Expressionism is an art movement in which artists
basically applied paint rapidly and with force to their canvases in
an effort to show feelings and emotions
•Inspired by the Surrealist idea; art should come from unconscious
mind
•It’s purpose is to create new forms of expression that were more
personal
