Heroes ’ square

Heroes ’ S quare Located at the end of Andrássy Avenue Named as Heroes ’ Square since 1932 Until 1937 it was a kind of park Part of the UNESCO since 2002

Statues located in the square : Millennial Monument in the center Gabriel Archangel on top Árpád who was the head of the confederation of the Hungarian tribes underneath Seven chieftains of the Hungarians around Peristile on the left hand side shows our greatest kings e.g . Stephen I. Peristile on the right hand side shows our Transilvanian kings At the end of both peristiles there are the statues of Knowledge and Glory facing the Andrássy Avenue , War and Peace facing each other

City Park 2nd largest public park of Budapest 100 hectare (=1 million m 2 ) Built for Millennial Celebrations Heroes ’ Square Vajdahunyad Castle Several Hungarian buildings Museum of Hungarian Agriculture Pond Artificial ice rink Zoo and arborate Museum of Fine Arts There used to be the Amusement Park was closed in 2013
