To reduce the consumption of alcohol in Dibhana village in the next 3 years by the following parameters: Reduce prevalence of alcohol drinkers by 70% Reduce f requency of consumption of alcohol 3. Reduce ⁠ a verage amount of alcohol consumed per person per day 4. ⁠Increased age of initiation of alcohol consumption from 15 to 21 Yrs. 5. ⁠Reduce expenditure of household on liquor per month from 9000 to 1000. Problem Statement

SUCCESS INDICATORS Direct prevalence assessment using WHO AUDIT (Alcohol Use Disorders Identification Test) Reduction in domestic violence Reduction in alcohol associated diseases Evaluating economic impact on household finances and productivity Monitoring alcohol control enforcement activities

Plan of action 1.To change the attitude regarding alcohol- Breaking the culture of alcohol consumption by:
a) Primary prevention-active education of children at schools
b)Public campaigning village-wide by means of posters, skits and educational programs regarding the hazards of alcohol

2.To provide the villagers with meaningful engagement in order to reduce the need for alcohol as an escape

A. To address the problem of lack of sufficient employment:
Creation of jobs by:
a) Bringing in private organisations into the area which utilise the raw products produced in the village/ can utilise unskilled or semiskilled labour

b)Creation of a committee comprising of educated members of the village who can identify villagers suffering from addiction, poor mental health, co-morbidities associated with alcohol and provide basic counselling+ provide a helpline for villagers in need+ refer necessary patients to higher medical centres

B. To encourage holistic development of village-
a)Provision of books and libraries
b)Creation of a cultural committee
c)Organisation of sports tournaments to encourage community involvement

3. To reduce the rampant availability of alcohol:
-Creating a co-operative society of women that produce alternative products from mavva -Promoting the incentivisation of production alternative products from mavva
