The Big issue promotes differ multiple issues such as Disability and diversity by portraying different social groups on their front cover

Why it is important to portray different Social
groups on the magazine
Magazines are a powerful medium for reaching out to diverse audiences, and having different social groups ontheir front
covers is important for several reasons:
-Representation: Featuring people from different social groups on the front cover of a magazine helps to promote
diversity and inclusivity. It shows that the publication is aware of and acknowledges the various groups that make up
society.
-Engagement: When a magazine features a person or group that its readers can relate to, it increases the chances of
engagement with the publication. This can lead to increased sales, subscriptions, and brand loyalty.
-Awareness: By featuring people from different social groups on the front cover, magazines can help to raise awareness
of issues that affect these groups. This can be particularly important for marginalized groups that may not have a voice
in mainstream media.
-Inspiration: Seeing someone from a similar social group on the front cover of a magazine can be inspiring for readers. It
can provide a sense of validation and encourage them to pursue their own goals and dreams.

Camera Research
•From research I have learned that
using different filters on magazine front
covers is important for several reasons:
branding, attraction, mood setting and
cohesiveness.
•Magazines use filters to create a
specific look and feel that aligns with their
brand. Filters can help to establish a
consistent visual identity that readers can
associate with the magazine.
•Different filters can help to make the
front cover of a magazine more attractive
and eye-catching to potential readers.
This can increase the likelihood of people
picking up the magazine and being drawn
to its content.
For the Camera
research we used
the Cannon M50
experimenting with
different filters to
create different
tones and moods
