"Towards Collective Building."
Collective Building means

architects, sculptors, and

Cornelis van Eesteren, Gerrit
Rietveld and Theo van Doesburg
manifesto signed it

"Towards Collective
Building"
III. The mutual harmonization of color in space and
time creates a positive unity.
IV. Rendering space and time visible through color
produces a new dimension.
I. Architecture is a plastic unit of industry and
technology, resulting in a new style.
II. The laws of space and their variations can be
balanced into unity.

"Towards Collective
Building"
VII. Color is given its rightful place in architecture,
and painting, separated from architectonic
construction, has no right to exist.
VIII. The time of destruction is over, and a new age
of construction is beginning.
V. A final method of constructing a unity is
discovered through the interrelationships between
dimension, proportion, space, time, and material.
VI. Breaking up enclosing elements eliminates the
duality of interior and exterior.

Even though they started a long time ago,
their ideas still have an impact on how things
are made and designed today.
They had some big ideas about how art and
buildings should look, and they wanted to
change the way people thought about design.
The De Stijl movement was really important
for art and architecture, and the things they
believed in still matter today.
