4 Types of Verbs State Verbs Definition: Verbs that describe a state or condition. Examples : be seem know believe like belong own appear
5 Transitive and Intransitive Verbs Transitive Verbs Definition : : Verbs that require an object to complete their meaning. Examples : She reads a book. He plays the guitar. They watch a movie.
6 Transitive and Intransitive Verbs Intransitive Verbs Definition : Verbs that do not require an object. Examples : He sleeps. The sun rises. The baby cries.
7 Types of Verbs Auxiliary Verbs Definition : Verbs that help the main verb express tense, voice or mood. Examples : be: am, is, are, was, were have: have, has, had do: do, does, did
8 Types of Verbs Modal Verbs Definition : Verbs that express possibility, ability, obligation, or permission. Examples : can could may might must shall should will would
