A cross infection is the transfer of infection from one person to another person. Can occur between person or piece of equipment, causing complication. Nosocomial infection- Also known as hospital acquired infection or hospital associated infection. Infection that are not present in the patient at the time of admission to hospital but develop during the course of the stay in hospital. There are two forms- Definition -
The causative agent present in the patients at the time of admission to the hospital but there are no sign of the infection. 2-Cross contamination followed by cross infection- Occur during staying in the hospital, when the patient come in the contact of new causative agent becomes infected.
