What is Sexual Harassment? Sexual harassment refers to unwelcome sexual advances, requests for sexual favors, and other verbal or physical conduct of a sexual nature that creates a hostile or offensive work environment. Examples: Examples include inappropriate comments, unwanted touching, sexual jokes, and displaying explicit materials.

Forms of Workplace Sexual Harassment Verbal : Sexual comments or jokes, offensive remarks about appearance, spreading rumors about someone's sex life, etc. Non-Verbal : Staring or leering, making sexual gestures, displaying sexually suggestive pictures, etc. Physical : Unwanted touching, hugging, kissing, assault, etc. Quid Pro Quo : Offering benefits in exchange for sexual favors or threatening retaliation for refusing such advances. Hostile Work Environment : Conduct that creates an intimidating, offensive, or abusive atmosphere.

Prevention and Prohibition Policy : Implementing a clear and comprehensive anti-sexual harassment policy. Training : Providing regular training sessions to educate employees about what constitutes sexual harassment and how to report it. Awareness : Promoting a culture of respect and accountability within the organization. Investigation : Establishing procedures for promptly and impartially investigating complaints of sexual harassment.

Addressing Sexual Harassment Reporting Mechanisms : Providing multiple channels for employees to report incidents of sexual harassment, ensuring confidentiality and protection from retaliation. Investigation Process : Conducting thorough and unbiased investigations into reported incidents, involving HR professionals or external experts if necessary.
