COMMUNICATION
Meaning of Communication Communication has been derived from the Latin word “ COMMUNIS”which means to share. Communication may,therefore,be defined as sharing of information,facts,opinions,emotion and ideas,so as to create mutual understanding between people.Thus,communication is more than transferring information.It is a two-way process.
Definition of Communication According to ALLEN, The total-sum of all the things one person does, he wants to create an understanding in the mind of another, it is a bridge of meaning.It involves a systematic and continuing process of telling, listening and understanding.
Importance of Communication Continue Process- Communication is a continue process incorporating various events and activities that are inter-related and interdependent.In any work place someone will be convey or receiving some information is an on going process. Two way Process- Communication can take place only then there are at least two person has to convey some message and another has to receive.Information may be convey individual or group of a person at the time.
3. Communication is all pervasive - Communication in all level of management the top management conveys the information to middle management and middle management to the top and to the supervisory staff.Supervisory staff convey message to the middle management. 4. Communication may be made through Gesture as well - Communication need not necessary we made oral or written certain gestures and actions may also conveys the information.
5. Communication is may be Formal or Informal. Formal communication followes the official channel.Informal communication does not follow the official channel.In case of informal communication person can communicate free without any boundation .
Communication Process Sender Message Encoding Channel and Medium Receiver Decoding Feedback
Sender- Sender is the person who transmites the message.He wants to communicate opinion,idea,facts,thought or information to another person. Message- Message is the actual information the has to be convey the message can be devided into verbal and non- verbal.The message must be complete and clear. Encoding- The sender puts hid idea of facts into words,symbols,picture or gestures which other person can understand.
Channel and Medium- The sender must find a suitable channel of media for the transmition of message.To make the message delivery efficient the channel must have direct connect to the receiver and relatively free from Noise. Receiver- The message is receive by the receive who show the particular response which is communicated back to back sender in the form of feedback. Decoding- The receiver translates the words and symbols used in the message into an idea and interprets it to obtain its meaning.
Feedback- After deriving the meaning, the receiver reacts or responds to the message.He sends back his response to the sender.This return flow of communication is called feedback. THANK YOU……..
