hilly, with an elevation

(920feet) in the south at
border with West Bengal to
8,586 meters (28,169feet)
in northern peaks near
Nepal and Tibet.

has population of 6.11 Lakhs, an increase
from figure of 5.41 Lakh in 2001 census.
●Total population of Sikkim as per 2011
census is 610,577 of which male and
female are 3,23,070 and 2,87,507
respectively.
●Recently as per Sikkim census data,
64.48% houses are owned while 30.55%
were rented. In all, 71.38% couples in
Sikkim lived in single family.

They are woody trees or shrubs, with
pendulous flowers, and have no spines
on their fruit. Their large, fragrant
flowers give them their common name
of Angel's trumpets, a name sometimes
used for the closely related genus

yellow pink to white but the white
flowers are very common

The White-bellied Musk Deer or
Himalayan musk deer (Moschus
leucogaster) is a musk deer species
occurring in the Himalayas of Nepal,
Bhutan, India, Pakistan and China. It is
listed as endangered on the IUCN Red
List because of overexploitation
resulting in a probable serious
population decline.

Fauna
A chunky partridgelikepheasant of
montanescrub. Males are silvery gray with
extensive pale streaking all over the body
and crimson-tinged face, tail, breast, and
tail -the namesake “blood” of this species.
Female is warm brown with an orange face.
Both sexes have a small head with an
occasionally raised weak crest. Usually seen
in small flocks in the winter and in pairs or
singly in the summer.

role in Sikkim. Buddhism and Hinduism are the two major religions
of Sikkim. Perhaps, Buddhism comes into view as the predominant
religious practice in Sikkim. Though, Hinduism is the actual religion
that is followed by the majority of people. Buddhism is practiced
by most of the Tibetans and the Bhutias. Unlike them, the Nepalese
follow the preaching of Hinduism. Besides Buddhism and
