PHASE-2 PRESENTATION GROUP MEMBERS:- VIVEK H KRISHNA DARSH SMEERA SMITH Study of biofluid dynamics of bifurcating vessels Guided by:- Mr. Asif S
TABLE OF CONTENTS THE MAIN OBJECTIVE LITERATURE REVIEW GEOMETRIC MODEL MESH GENERATION SIMULATION RESULTS WORKS TO BE DONE
The main objective : An investigation on stenosed symmetrical bifurcating helical vessels with different bifurcating angles and helix pitches. A suitable geometry and its effects on velocity, pressure, and wall shear stress are studied. Study of varying bifurcating angles and helical pitch between the vessels. Identifying areas with low and high wall shear stress.
STENOSIS Stenosis refers to the abnormal narrowing or constriction of a bodily passage. This narrowing can occur in various body parts, leading to different types of stenosis. Spinal Stenosis is a narrowing of the spaces within your spine, which can put pressure on the nerves traveling through it. Aortic Stenosis: Narrowing of the aortic valve in the heart, which can obstruct blood flow from the heart to the rest of the body. Pulmonary Stenosis: Narrowing the pulmonary valve or artery can affect blood flow from the heart to the lungs. Stenosis can result from various causes, including congenital abnormalities, injuries, infections, or the buildup of tissues like plaque. Symptoms and treatments vary depending on the type and severity of the stenosis.
Literature review OBSERVATIONS FROM THE RESEARCH PAPERS:- Altered Hemodynamics Impact of wall shear stress Influence of bifurcation angles Varying velocity profiles Literature review from research papers by authors like Mahesh Nagargoje , Raghvendra , Jianfei Song, Smaine Kouidri , Shreyas Kotian , Guiying Liu, Jianhuang Wu, M Malve , A M Gharib ,etc were done .
