Introduction Soapstone / Talc Stone Chemical Compositions Soapstone is the common name for the mineral steatite. Steatite is at least 50% talc combined with other minerals, mostly magnetite. While when the Talc is pure its composition is 31.88 % of MgO , 63.33% of SiO 2 and 4.75 % of H 2 O. Common ores are;-

Afghanistan Talc Deposits :
Objectives To characterize Ghundy Mine Talc deposit & to identify t he most appropriate beneficiation technique. To upgrade the Talc to industrial grade.
Methodology: Sample Collection First of all, 20kg of representative field samples will be collected from the Ghundy Mine Talc deposit , for the research study purpose. From this representative sample, 10kg will be kept for record purposes and 10kg will be worked on. Crushing/ Grinding: To reduce the size to 50-150 microns. Crushing: Jaw and cone crusher Grinding: Roll mill and ball mill Characterization Study XRF XRD etc. Upgradation process selection Chemical Analysis of the final product to establish its suitability for industrial or chemical use
