4. Kriteria Apa? Matematika memiliki banyak kesamaan dengan ilmu pengetahuan alam dan lebih sedikit kesamaan dengan pelajaran bahasa dan mata pelajaran seperti Sejarah atau sastra Inggris . Namun , matematika berbeda dari semua ini dalam satu hal penting . Dalam ilmu pengetahuan alam , kriteria dasar untuk validitas pernyataan atau karya apa pun adalah eksperimen .

5. Penghinaan Terhadap Intelegensi Dalam proses pembelajaran , siswa pada dasarnya tidak bisa dipaksakan untuk menerima informasi yang bertentangan dengan diri mereka . Bukan karena harkat martabat atau apapun itu , melainkan tidak bisa diterima berdasarkan akal dan nalar mereka . Artinya penolakan ini bergantung pada tingkat kecerdasan mereka . Pengajaran dan pembelajaran matematika haruslah menjadi satu interaksi antara kecerdasan-kecerdasan yang dimiliki guru dan siswa , saling menghormati satu sama lain. Para siswa menghormati kemampuan yang dimiliki guru, dan berharap pengetahuannya sendiri menjadi lebih luas .
