Public procurement rules 2008 are used in government procurement in Bangladesh. There have 9 chapters in this act and 130 article  in this act.

Some of the Important rules given bellow. Rules 8 .   Composition of Evaluation Committee and Evaluation Procedure.- The Evaluation Committee shall examine and evaluate the applications, tenders, expression of interest or proposals.

Rules 15(2 ) The Buyer shall, in determining the purchase procedure and assembling the package of goods, consider the following factors –  (a) type of goods to be purchased;  (b) the estimated expenditure approved by the Head of the Procuring Office .  (c) availability of the concerned product in the local market;  (d) the quality, source and brand of the respective products available in the local market;

Rules 19 . .Validity Period depends on complexity and time needed for Tender/ Proposal evaluation and approval, and shall be within the limits specified in Schedule II (60 to 120 days

25. Any tender security shall be forfeited, if the tenderer-  (a) withdraws the tender within the validity period of the tender security after opening the tender;  (b) refuses to accept notice of execution of the contract;  (c) as applicable, fails to provide the Performance Security;  (d) refuses to perform the contract

39(6) The Project Manager may direct the Contractor to investigate any defects or to discover and test any work which in the opinion of the Project Manager is suspected to be defective. 39(15) The Project Manager shall examine the contractor's monthly statement and certify the amount payable in favor of the contractor.

43(2) Purchase records shall be kept from the beginning of any purchase plan until the contractual obligations are fully fulfilled 128.Any or all government procurement will be done using an electronic management system in accordance with the guidelines laid down by the government
