Puppetry

What is puppetry? The art of making inanimate objects come to life The word puppet comes from the latin word ‘pupa’ meaning ‘doll’ The term “puppet” is a generic term for any animated figure Puppetry is a very ancient form of theatre which was first recorded in the west in the 5th century BC in Ancient Greece. Some forms of puppetry may have originated as long ago as 3000 years BC. The earliest puppets probably were in Egypt, where ivory and clay puppets have been discovered in tombs.
