•New application packaged by expert into a pattern can
often be deployed in minutes or hours
1) Based upon testing of the IBM PureApplication System W1500-96 and W1700-608 with time measured from powering on the system to when it is ready to support application deployments
2) Based upon testing of the IBM PureApplication System W1500-192 and W1700-608 deploying a single Virtual Application Pattern consisting of 2 WAS VMs, a DB2 VM, and updating the Elastic Load Balancer (ELB). The WAS VMs were allocated 4 vCPUs, 4 GB of memory and 12 GB of disk while the DB2 VM was allocated 8 vCPUs, 6 GB of
memory and two virtual disks of 12 GB and 4 GB.
3) Based upon testing, under various workload conditions, of the IBM PureApplication System W1500-192 and W1700-608 automatically scaling a Virtual Application Pattern consisting of WAS VMs by adding an addtional WAS VM
4) Based upon testing of the IBM PureApplication System IBM PureApplication System W1700-384 (Power7+ Processor, 3.61GHz w/ 8-cores)VMs were deployed using the Virtual System Pattern methodology and were deployed as a WAS 8.5 five-node cluster that deploys 5 virtual machines consisting of one deployment manager, 3 custom
WebSphere nodes and 1 IBM HTTP Server. Each VM had default CPU and memory settings of 1 virtual CPU and 2 GB of memory
•Expert-built patterns simplify deployment and
maintenance of applications
•Disaster Recovery setup in as few as 5 clicks
•Concurrent management of 1000+ VM’s on a single
W1700-384 system
