After listening and singing the song, “Bayan Ko,” motivate the pupils to create a visual representation (drawing) of how they visualized the message of the song.
What is form in music?
FORM in music refers to the arrangement and order of the parts or sections of the music. • Generally, the letters A, B, and C are used to label form particularly if the song has two or more different melodies. Use “Bayan Ko” as an example.
The song, “Bayan Ko” has four stanzas. Stanza 1 and stanza 2 have the same melody (A). Stanzas 3 and 4 have the same melody (B). The letter A indicates section. This means that both stanzas I and II have the same melody and rhythm. The letter B indicates another section. This means that stanza III and stanza IV have the same melody and rhythm from section A.

Was it properly conveyed through the melody (tune) and lyrics (words) of the song? PAIR – Look for a partner and compare and share your ideas. SHARE – Share your answers with the class.

A. Unitary – is a kind of song with only one verse. Example: The song Happy Birthday to You has only one verse and follows one melody
Other songs with unitary form are: Row, row, row your boat and Ako ay may Lobo.
B. Binary – is a kind of song composed of two contrasting sections represented by A and B. Example: It’s a Small World The song, “It’s a Small World,” has a binary form which means it follows an AB pattern. Other songs with binary forms are Imagine (John Lennon) and Ako’y Isang Pinoy (Florante).
C. Strophic – is a form of song in which there is a repetition of a musical unit, stanza, or verse. It is repeated three or more times.

Activity 3: SAYAWIT SAYAWIT is a combination of two Tagalog words - Sayaw at Awit ; thus, a SAYAWIT performance involves dancing and singing. a. Divide the class into four groups with an equal number of members. b. Each group will sing a folk song of their choice. c. Have each group perform in front of the class.
