Subject and Object questions
Subject questions are questions we ask when we
want to know the subject of the sentence. They
normally start with the question words:
who, which, what, whose. They are in affirmative,
without auxiliaries, (who, which, what, whose
are the subjects of the sentence)
Who bought the house?
What happened to him?
Whose car was stolen in the car park?
Which gives you more? The flat in Arucas or the
house in Artenara?

Object questions are used when we want to
know the object of the sentence. The questions
normally begin with who, what, which, whose
but they are not the subjects and the auxiliary
is needed:
Who did you speak to?
What did you do yesterday?
Which book did Peter buy?
Whose is this house?
In object questions the preposition goes at the end
of the sentence.
Where does he come from?
Who were you talking to?

•When we use who and
what
as subjects, the verb is
usually in singular,even if a
plural answer is expected
Who wants a cup of
coffee?
What is there to do in Las
Palmas?
