About This Presentation

Articulate Rise educational module of the Anatomy of the Hand and Wrist. This module explores the details of a hand and wrist x-ray and helps one learn the anatomy and building knowledge of the hand and wrist.

Slide Content

In this radiology course, you will be studying anatomy and understanding the
importance of knowing the anatomy to become an exceptional radiologic
technologist. This course will concentrate on the anatomy of the hand and wrist.

When this course is finished, you should be able to:
List all the anatomy of the hand and wrist
Identify all anatomy of the hand and wrist on an x-ray film
Apply the knowledge of anatomy to help in the diagnosis of a hand or wrist x-
ray

It is of the utmost importance to perform high quality x-rays for the radiologist to make a
proper diagnosis and to ensure that the best patient care is given.

                     High quality x-ray
Image of a High Quality PA Hand X-Ray

This is an example of a high quality PA hand/wrist x-ray. A radiologic technologist can visualize
all hand and wrist anatomy, which ensures that the radiologist can make a proper diagnosis for
the patient.
                          Fracture of the 5th metacarpal
This x-ray shows a fracture in the 5th metacarpal. This is why it is important to know the
anatomy, so you know exactly where the fracture is located.

Just a few take-aways!
                   Anatomy the heart of radiology
You have completed this eLearning course. You are on your way to
becoming a great radiologic technologist. Keep on learning and
Always remember that it is important to know and remember the antomy when
becoming a radiologic technologist.
It is important to make sure all anatomy is visualized well on the radiograph for
proper reading and diagnosis.
Always make sure to take high quality radiographs to show all anatomy well and to
ensure great patient care.

studying!
