3. A rare species is a group of organisms that are very uncommon, scarce,or infrequently encountered .

4. This designation may be applied to either plant or animal taxon,and may be distinct from the term endangered or threatened species .

5. A species may be endangered or vulnerable, but not considered rare if-for example-it has large,dispersd population,butits numbers are declining rapidly or predicted to do so.

6. Rare species are generally considered threatened because of very small population size is more likely to not reconvert from stochastic events(things that could happen).

8. There are various species of plants also which are critically endangered. They are even classified as critically endangered by IUCN.

9. These plant occupy some of the most inaccessible,remoteparts of our planet. They are threatened by habitat destruction, illegal collection,poaching,andcompetetion with invading seeds .

Some examples of rare plant species are:- Jade vine Strongylodon macrobotrys, Corpse flower rafflesia arnoldi, Giraltar campion ssilene tomentosa, Franklin tree franklinia alatamaha, Parrot’s beak lotus berthellotii, Chocolote cosmos cosmos atrosanguineus, Koki’s kokai cookei, Yellow and purple lady slippers cypripedium, Ghost orchid epipogium aphyllum, Middlemist red middlemist cammellia.
