The government of India has approved the Revamped Distribution Sector Scheme (RDSS) to help DISCOMs improve their operational efficiencies and financial sustainability by providing result-linked financial assistance to DISCOMs to strengthen supply infrastructure based on meeting pre-qualifying criteria and achieving basic minimum benchmarks. 3. REVAMPED DISTRIBUTION SECTOR SCHEME (RDSS) The objective of the scheme is to bring down pan-India AT&C losses to 12 – 15% level. The Scheme provides for annual appraisal of the DISCOM performance against predefined and agreed upon performance trajectories including AT&C losses, ACS-ARR gaps, infrastructure upgrade performance, consumer services, hours of supply, corporate governance.

4. Ajmer Vidyut Vitran Nigam Limited (Ajmer Discom) has been established under the companies Act,1956 by Govt. of Rajasthan. The Ajmer Discom has been created with the principal object of engaging in the business of distribution and supply of electricity in 11 districts of Rajasthan, namely Ajmer, Bhilwara, Nagaur , Jhunjhunu, Sikar, Banswara, Cittorgarh , Dungarpur, Pratapgarh, Rajsamand and Udaipur. About Ajmer Vidyut Vitran Nigam Limited (AVVNL) The Ajmer Discom AT& C loss in FY 21 was 21.60% whereas the ACS –ARR gap was 0.36 based on subsidy received basis. The Bnswara , Dungarpur, Pratapgarh and partly Udaipur District are having Tribal populations and the same comes under TSP area. The terrain of Dungarpur, Udaipur, Rajsamand&Pratapgarh is hilly. The economic conditions of TSP areas are poor.
