What is recovery room A recovery room is a room in a hospital where patients are placed after they have had an operation under anesthesia , so that they can be monitored while they recover. He was monitored in the recovery room for approximately 30 minutes following the anesthesia.
Function The recovery room and surgical intensive care unit are used mainly for the same general purpose; that is, to accommodate a group of patients who have undergone surgery and need close observation and prompt care in the event of sudden complications .
cont The Association of Anaesthetists of Great Britain and Ireland define the recovery room as “an area to which patients are admitted from an operating room, where they remain until consciousness is regained and ventilation and circulation are stable”.
